Guilin Tours
Review: We went in the first week of April; the weather was rainy/misty, but the terraces were green and lush. We had a great time and liked the trip very much. We booked through our hotel in Guilin and got a good deal- 250 RMB per person. The Yao Minority (long hair) show was an ad-on and even though the guide was pushy, we enjoyed the show. Downsides: we took the coach tour, so we had a bilingual tour guide who was constantly talking in both languages (there was almost no peace and quiet for thinking and observing). The lunch wasn't included, so our guide pushed the whole group into one restaurant (just to get commission) where the was no view, the service was poor and the place understaffed, meanwhile there were plenty empty restaurants with a nice view of the terraces around. Overall: it's an interesting trip, we recommend to go in March when the weather is a bit drier or in the end of May when it's warmer. Don't book in advance, there are plenty agents and options once you're in Guilin.

Good value tour but you need to be fit, as there are many steps up to the rice terraces. The weather was very hot and humid. If possible an overnight stay would be much more advantageous, especially to view at sunrise/sunset. The long hair village stop on the way up was very interesting. We did not take the optionsal show but wandered around the village despite being told by the guide that there was little to see. There was a lot to see, and we gained an insight into their village life, it was enjoyed by many on the coach who chose not to do the show which was an extra charge also. This was a dual language tour which meant that the guide was continually talking. As with other tours we found the continual requests for tips disappointing.

a highly must see site .the guide was so great the village is breathtaking place and we were lucky to have a good weather so all vuew was so clear must try the rice and meat they prepare in bamboo put in fire DONT MISS THAT

Unfortunately we didn't have great weather, our hotel advised us that we shouldn't go as we wouldn't see anything but when I tried to ask the tour guide this he told me it wasn't a problem and it would be fine. As you can imagine, we didn't see anything. Also it's cheaper if you book through your hotel, our hotel (the Lijiang Waterfall) was offering a private car for the 2 of us for 400RMB (the same price) which means you don't need to pay for another smaller bus to go to the hills. plus you don't need to keep hanging around waiting for people to get back to the bus. I'm not sure whether this would have included the show (which was actually incredibly naff). So, although I'm sure it's worth a visit if you get a nice day, don't feel like you need to book before you go, you will get a better deal there and you can wait and see what the weather is going to be like. We went during a Chinese holiday and still it would have been fine to book when we got there.

Guilin Tours
This was a very nice place, if you go to Guilin you hace to go here. About this tour: the guide was a nice person. we pay 400 RMB and we need to pay also the food, another bus to go to the hills 32 RMB, and the show of the woman of the village. I think the tour colud cost more but include everithing, because sometimes you don´t travel with enough money, and the don´t advise you of it.
