Free at leisure for the rest of the day. Day 2 Beijing (B, L, D) Visit the Great Wall, jade market and Summer Palace. After the tour, we will enjoy a delicious Peking Duck in Quanjude restaurant. - Great Wall: One of the seven wonders in the world and the symbol of China (60 miles away from downtown, about one and half hour's drive). Visit scenic spots: Badaling Geat Wall, Badaling fortress, beacon-towers, "looking-toward beijing stone", etc. - Summer Palace: The largest and best-preserved royal garden in China with a history of over 800 years. Visit scenic spots: 1. East palace gate, 2. the hall of benevolence and longevity, 3. hall of jade billows, 4. the hall of joyful longevity, 5. the covered walkway, 6. the marble boat, etc. Day 3 Beijing -> Xian (B, L) Full day trip to Tian'anmen Square, Forbidden City and silk market.Tranfer to railway station for overnight soft sleeper train Z19 (21h18 -> 08h19) to Xian. - Tian'anmen Square: The largest city square in the world. - Forbidden City: The largest imperial palace in China during the Ming and Qing dynasties with a history of around 600 years. Visit scenic spots: 1. The hall and the courtyard of supreme harmony, 2. The meridian gate, 3. the hall of supreme harmony, 4. the hall of complete harmony, 5. the hall of preserving harmony, 6. the huge of stone carving, 7. the hall of union, 8. the palace of earthly tranquility, 9. the imperial garden, etc. Day 4 Xian (B, L) Our Xian tourguide will pick you up at the railway station.Then transfer you to the hotel. Have city tours to the Provincial Museum and the Ancient City Wall. Enjoy the Tang Dynasty show in the evening. - : One of the main museums in China which holds numerous unearthed cultural relics of China. - : An extension of the old Tang Dynasty structure boasting the most complete city wall that survives through Chinese long history. - The show that presents the palace dances and sings in the Tang Dynasty when Xian was the capital. Day 5 Xian (B, L) Visit Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses (40 miles away from downtown), Bell Tower and Wild Goose Pagoda. In the evening transfer to railway station.Take Train K315/K318 (19h22 -> 22h46) to Guilin. - : The greatest archaeological findings of the century: the army of terra-cotta warriors and the bronze chariots entombed in vast underground vaults at emperor Qin's tomb. - : The emblem of Xian city. - : The pagoda where widely renowned Master Xuanzang (Monk Tripitaka) stored his classics brought from India. Day 6 Guilin Arrival Upon arrival at 22h46, you will be met and transferred to your hotel with private vehicle and guide. It is a good choice to see the night scenery in Gulin.
Day 7 Guilin (B, L) Full day Li River Cruise to Yangshuo Old Town with lunch aboard, free to explore and return to Guilin late in the afternoon. - Li River Cruise: Depart in the morning. Be transferred for 4.5 hours wonderful cruise.You will enjoy the most beautiful mountains and water. Disembark at the one-thousand-year-old town Yangshuo in the afternoon. Have a short exploration to the old town before being transferred back to hotel. Day 8 Guilin -> Guangzhou (B, L) Half day Group tour to Reed Flute Cave and Elephant Trunk Hill, and take train No. 40 (Dep 21h23 - Arr 08h28) to Guangzhou. - Reed Flute Cave: Known as "the Palace of Natural Arts" where you can see beautiful stalactites & stalagmites, and learn how they are formed. - Elephant Trunk Hill: Located at the conjunction of the Li River & the Peach Blosom River, the whole hill looks very much like a giant elephant with a long trunk. It is the symbol of Guilin city. Day 9 Guangzhou We will pick you up at the Guangzhou railway station and then transfer you to the hotel. You can enjoy your own leisure for the rest of the day. Day 10 Guangzhou (B, L) Full day trip to the Yuexiu Park, Five Ram Statues and the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall. After lunch, visit the Chens' Ancestral Temple, Liurong Monastery, Beijing Road Walking Street and Xiguan big house. - Octagonal memorial hall for Sun Yat-sen: It was built with money donated by overseas Chinese and Guangzhou residents. - Liurong (Six Banyan Tree) Monastery: It is a legacy of Buddhism and the site of an ancient bronze Buddhist statue and Flower Pagoda, the tallest ancient structure in Guangzhou. - Yuexiu Park: It is the largest park in downtown Guangzhou. Covering an area of 860,000 square meters (212.5 acres), the park is made up of three artificial lakes and seven hills of Yuexiu Mountain; hence the name Yuexiu Park.Yuexiu Park is a perfect combination of cultural relics and ecological tourism, reputed for its pretty water and hills as well as cultural relics. The main places of interest include the stone sculpture of the Five Rams, Zhenhai Tower, the site of the Ming Dynasty City Wall, and Square Cannon Site. - Five-Ram Sculpture: It is one of the most famous structures in Guangzhou. It has become the emblem of Guangzhou City. Legend has it that more than 2,000 years ago, Guangzhou was a barren land with people who despite hard work were suffering from famine. One day five immortals in five-color garments came riding on five rams, playing their legendary music. The rams held sheaves of rice in their mouths. The immortals left the sheaves of rice for the Guangzhou people, gave blessings to the city and left. The rams turned into stone and the city of Guangzhou became a rich and populous place. Guangzhou got the name of the City of Rams and the City of Ears. - Xiguan Big House: the big house of Xiguan is the traditional folk house belonging to the rich and powerful family and the wealthy merchant in the "Xiguan Corner" (the present Liwan District) in Guangzhou, known as "Ancient Big House". This kind of house is usually deep with 3 compartments and 2 corridors in the bilateral symmetry, and in the center is the principal hall. Along the axle line is the porch, hallway, sedan-chair hall, main hall, front cubicle, secondary hall and the secondary room in sequence, each hall is one row and separated by the small patio from other halls. Day 11 GuangZhou departure (B) After breakfast, we will pick you up at the hotel and transfer you to the airport or the railway station.
