Very good tour. All the arrangements were done by Tina. I have highly appreciated the tour arrangement because we don't have any single problems. In addition, we did the Zhangjiajie tour also. It was also arranged by Tina. All the two tours are very good. All the tour guides and drivers are also very good. I have recommended China Tour Net is very good for any tour for China...

Our trip was absolutely wonderful and I would happily recommend your services to anyone interested in seeing the real China. I am so grateful to have seen so much of what China is like today and I'm glad we went when we did. I think being one of the few Westerners everywhere we went was a real benefit. And guess what, I've never been a very adventuresome eater but in China I learned to eat and enjoy a lot of new dishes. I would never have tried them here, but I had no choice there, and I'm really glad now...

We did the 8 day tour Beijing, Xian and Shanghai (ID 60608) and we would like to make some comments: like any tour we found good and bad points; as we believe that the negatives can be improved, we resolve to describe them. We arrived on October 2, full Golden Week, holiday week in China, everything was absolutely full; we were not aware of this holiday and maybe the agency could have informed us or suggested another date for the tour. On our arrival the driver was waiting for us at the landing and although he did not speak English was very friendly and approachable. Our guide Tina was very cheerful and did her best so that in the middle of the Chinese crowd we could see the most of Beijing, it was 3 busy days. Our hotel in Beijing Howard Johnson Paragon was opposite the railway station which due to the holiday should be one of the most crowded regions of the city. By the way it was not this hotel that was on the tour, the others were maybe better located. We left Beijing late in the afternoon by plane to Xian on our arrival we were greeted by the driver who also did not speak English but was super kind and took us to the Hotel safely. Our guide Jason was very friendly and professional accompanied us on all programs with good information. Again we stayed in a hotel not mentioned in the tour Whydman Xian Hotel in an area with some shopping around. We left Xian in the afternoon for Shanghai on October 7. Arriving there we found the driver super grumpy, treated us very badly, left the front, going up stairs to the parking lot, did not help with the bags, did not say a word. On the way to the hotel he was super reckless in the direction, at high speed, showing all the time that he was very unhappy that we were there. Left us at The Bund Hotel. The next day at 9:30 pm our guide Anne arrived and with the same driver we went to visit some tourist spots. She told us she was tired and showed little interest. She did not know the Museum was closed because it was Monday. After lunch we dismissed the two and went on in Shanghai to enjoy the city, which is beautiful by the way. Alone we discovered the subway and walked. Both the driver and the guide were not doing quality service, a shame. And one more point, ask for a tour without the stores, where the guide earns commission if you buy something, it seems you have an obligation to buy. Thanks, Isabela and Pedro from Brazil...

October in China is beautiful, but you must avoid the week following October 1st as almost all of China goes on vacation during this time and the crowds make it unpleasant. My average rating is not because of the crowds. In Beijing, our tour guide "Sue" was great and knew all of the back doors to the sites to avoid most of the long lines. She rearranged the daily schedule to avoid the crowds. The food was excellent and on the last day she found, at our request, a very good dumpling restaurant. The hotel (Howard Johnson) was very good, 4-star as expected. Downside and the reason for the average rating is that for everything that we were interested in doing, it was followed by or preceded by a visit to a government factory where we faced high pressure salespeople to buy over priced Jade, Silk, tea. At one point I tried to discuss (stop) a ridiculous purchase with my wife and subtle insults thrown in our direction, as they tried to redirect me to another room. Fortunately we did not buy the $600 silk blanket and got out with some overpriced pillows. In Xi'an, we stayed at the Days Inn (supposed to be 4 start, a stretch to call it a 3 star). Lots of cigarette smell in the hallways fortunately not in our rooms. Limited western options for breakfast. Beds not very comfortable. Our tour guide Michellia was very nice, but the Terracotta Statue Factory with the high pressure sales was irritating. Our favorite part was the 1.25 hour bike ride around the city wall (we were fast) The driver in this city was very aggressive, fast and even got into a fender bender. I was not planning on giving him a tip but our guide and driver in the end applied unnecessary pressure. In Shanghai, there was some mix-up and there was not anyone to pick up our family at the airport at 11:30 pm and the "night" telephone number for ChinaTour was not working. We found a taxi to get us to our hotel. The next morning we did not know when our tour guide would meet us. After several calls to Chinatour (not getting though until late morning), they arranged a last minute driver and tour guide and our day started around 11:30 am. Because of the crowds and weather we were finished with our abbreviated tour around 3:00 pm. Our tour guide was nice, but obvious to me that he had planned to have the day off before he got assigned to us at the last minute. From what I saw in Shanghai, I don't think it was worth the visit. Chinatour did reimburse me for the taxi charge. The Bund Riverside Hotel is located in a very good location and we were able to walk/run along a large pedestrian area and the boardwalk along the river which was quite pleasant. Breakfast was good, but I could feel the box-springs in the uncomfortable mattress. Some other things to be aware of, is that the internet is terrible in China. I rarely could get send or receive my gmail. Maps that I had down loaded to my phone did not work. WhatsApp, facebook, Netflix did not work. I knew there were internet restrictions going to china, but I had hoped to at least have better access to my email. I would go again to China, and probably even use Chinatour again. We are not really that picky when it comes to traveling but other travelers might not have been so tollerant. In summary October is great, but don't bother going the 1st week of October...

I just returned from the 8 Days Tour (Beijing / Xi'an / Shanghai) and had a wonderful time. The tour guides were very friendly and knowledgeable about their cities, the transporation worked fine, and the hotels were first class. The meals were plentiful and delicious. We saw the major sites and had enough free time to absorb the atmosphere of each city. The people we met on the trains were very friendly and eager to speak English with us. This was not an 'easy' trip but was a memorable excursion. I am very happy I went, and will certainly visit China again. David Collander Wrightwood, California, USA..
