Tour Itinerary

Day 1  Shanghai Arrival
Upon your arrival at Shanghai, we will pick you up from the airport and transfer you to your hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day free at leisure. 

Day 2  Shanghai (Breakfast,Lunch)

Pick up from hotel and take a full day to explore the city. First visit Yu Garden. In the centre of Shanghai next to the Yuyuan Bazaar, this exquisite old 5-acre garden is famous for its design. The paths wander across bridges, past rockeries and miniature lakes, and through pretty halls and pavilions. The trees and shrubs are planted with an eye to providing charming views, and a sense of peace and harmony.

Then head to the the Shanghai World Financial Center, which is a supertall skyscraper under construction in Shanghai, China. It is a mixed use skyscraper which will consist of offices, hotels, conference rooms, observation decks, and shopping malls on the ground floors. The hotel component will open with 175 rooms and suites in mid-2008 as the Park Hyatt Shanghai. On September 14, 2007 the skyscraper was topped out at 492.3 meters (1,615.2 ft) and became the tallest structure on mainland China, including Hong Kong, as well as the world's third tallest building (including unfinished ones), after the Burj Dubai and Taipei 101.

Then proceed to the Bund, which was once the home of the foreign traders and major banks, the embankment has taken on a new vitality; lovely old European-style buildings mix with futuristic developments, chic restaurants, top end shops and bars offer plenty to see and do and by night it's magic!

Day 3  Shanghai to Guilin (Breakfast,Lunch)

Pick up from hotel and take a tour in Zhouzhuang Water Town. Zhouzhuang is an ancient culture town in Southern China. The town is surrounded by water with many branching streams, stone bridges and old residence with black tiles and white wells.Such an ancient water town on an island in a lake in the land of rice and fish . Visitors may explore picturesque narrow canals, little streets, bridges and overhanging traditional houses,visit well-preserved old residences with good displays, eat delicious fish or other local delicacies and enjoy the balladeers in the waterside teahouses. The drive from Suzhou passes through fertile farmlands full of lakes, canals, barges, ducks, rice, corn, bananas; everything grows here!  The town is surrounded by water with many branching streams, stone bridges and old residence with black tiles and white wells. Take a boat ride across the old town. After the tour, transfer to the airport in Shanghai for your flight to Guilin. Upon your arrival at Guilin airport, we will pick you up and transfer you to your hotel.

Day 4  Guilin Terraced Field (Breakfast,Lunch)

Be met at around 8:30 at your hotel and transferred to Longsheng County at about 11:00. Have lunch at a local restaurant in the Village. Located in Longsheng County, Longji Terraced Field is built into the hillsides and look like great chains or ribbons as they wind from the foot to the top of the hill. This ingenious construction makes best use of the thin arable land and water resources in the mountainous area. Some parts of the fields were first built in the Yuan Dynasty and completed in the Qing Dynasty by the Zhuang people.

Among the terraced fields there stands two villages - Ancient Zhuang Village and Ping'an Village. You will see the two most famous scenic spots- "Seven Stars around the Moon" and "Nine Dragons & Five Tigers" in Ping'an Village. Also have a chance to see the local Yao Minority Women's Long Hair Show (optional with extra charge) before being transferred back to your hotel in Guilin at about 18:00.

Day 5  Guilin (Breakfast,Lunch)
Meet your tour guide at hotel lobby at 8:00 in the morning. It takes about 1 hour to drive to Li River pier (Mopanshan pier) from downtown. The boarding time is scheduled at 9:30 am, and the whole journey takes about 4 hours. Embark and enjoy your Li River cruise to Yangshuo.

Li River is the highlight of Guilin tour, and whoever come to this city will be impressed by its natural beauty. The 54-kilometer waterway on the twisty Li River from Zhujiang to Yangshuo covers hundreds and thousands of grotesque peaks. The landscape is decorated with rolling hills, steep cliffs, fantastic caves, leisurely boats and is lined with bamboo. The water reflect the mountain and the sky, forming a picturesque scenery. Wonderful appreciation of a stirring "Movement of Mother Nature" ! 

A Chinese lunch box is offered on board by the cruise company.

Disembark at Yangshuo (Longtoushan pier) in the afternoon (1:30-2:00pm). Yangshuo, an ancient town with a history of over 1400 years, is the most beautiful town along the Li River. At the village of Gaotian to the south of Yangshuo, the fascinating pastoral scenery comes in sight. Yangshuo West Street is a place where you will find a lot of unique shops selling traditional handcrafts, hand-made scarfs, snacks of local flavor etc. It is quite fun to explore these small shops even if you don’t buy anything. Have a short exploration of the old town. You can also take an optional Bamboo Rafting on Yulong River to enjoy the beautiful scenery along the river. 

Stay overnight in Yangshuo. If you would like to return to Guilin, please ask our tour operator to customize the itinerary in advance.

Day 6  Guilin-Beijing (Breakfast,Lunch)

On this day, you will take a bike tour to Moon Mountain and Yangshuo Big Banyan Tree. Experience the hustle & bustle of the Yangshou traffic for 5 minutes before you escape onto the country roads, lanes and tracks of the distinctive and beautiful Yangshou countryside. Biking through the paddy field and orchards that surround the famous mountains will give a fascinating insight into life in rural China. Centuries old farming methods sit side by side with mobile phones and satellite dishes.

Then transfer you to Guilin Airport for your flight to Beijing. Upon your arrival at Beijing, pick you up and transfer to your hotel.

Day 7  Beijing (Breakfast,Lunch)

Our tour guide will pick you up from your hotel, and then drive to Tian'anmen Square, one of the largest city squares in the world. Its name literally means “Gate of Heavenly Peace”. The square witnessed the foundation of the People’s Republic of China and several important events in Chinese history.

Pass through the big gate with Chairman mao's Portrait, we will visit the Forbidden City. You can enter the Forbidden City directly without waiting in line because we have booked your ticket in advance. The Forbidden City is the largest ancient imperial palaces group in the world with 500 years history .This palace is an example of ancient Chinese architecture.( Visit the Forbidden City from south to north for about 2 hours.)
Visit scenic spots: 1. The hall and the courtyard of supreme harmony, 2. The meridian gate, 3. the hall of supreme harmony, 4. the hall of complete harmony, 5. the hall of preserving harmony, 6. the huge of stone carving, 7. the hall of union, 8. the palace of earthly tranquility, 9. the imperial garden, etc.

After Forbidden City, we drive to The Temple of Heaven. It is the largest ancient imperial worship architecture group in the world. Visit it for about 1 hour.
Visit scenic spots: 1. the hall of prayer for good harvest, 2. red stairway bridge, 3. the imperial vault of heaven, 4. echo wall, 5. triple sound stone, 6. the circular mound altar, etc.

Have Chinese lunch in our selected Restaurant. 

After lunch we drive about 40 minutes to Summer Palace, the largest and most beautiful Chinese imperial garden, which UNESCO declared the Summer Palace “a masterpiece of Chinese landscape garden design". Visit it for about 1-1.5 hours.
Visit scenic spots: 1. East palace gate, 2. the hall of benevolence and longevity, 3. hall of jade billows, 4. the hall of joyful longevity, 5. the covered walkway, 6. the marble boat, etc.

After the tour, we will drive back to your hotel.

Day 8  Beijing (Breakfast,Lunch)

Pick you up from your hotel, and drive about 1.5 hours to Dingling Tomb (the Underground Palace). The Underground Palace Hall, a labyrinth palace building, is the only tomb of the thirteen Ming Tombs to be excavated. Buried here are three individuals; Emperor Wan-li (died 1620), Empress Wang (died 1620), and another Empress Wang (died 1611). 

After the visit of Ming Tomb at about 11:30AM, before having Chinese lunch, travelers have 30 minutes to have a short visit of Jade Carving Factory, jade carving has always been a part of Chinese traditional culture.

After lunch, we will hike on the Mutianyu Great Wall, which is said to be the most beautiful section of the Great Wall. Travelers can choose go hiking on the wall or take a cable car ride to the top of the hill. 

Day 9  Beijing Departure (Breakfast)
Pick you up at appointed time from your hotel and transfer you to the airport. That's the end of the tour.
