The Temple of Heaven is not only a world heritage but also a park for residence to work out or relax.
The floor area is even larger than the Forbidden City. There are three most famous scenic spots in Temple of Heaven. They are the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvest, the Imperial Vault of Heaven and Circular Mound Alter of Heaven. These three attractions are located in a straight line. You just need to go straight and you will not miss the attractions. For entering each of the three attractions, your ticket will be checked at the entrance.

Besides the scenic spots, visiting the Temple of Heaven is really a good way to get to know Beijing local life. Here you will see many local residents playing Tai Chi, dancing, playing instruments etc.

How to get to the Temple of Heaven

Take Subway Line 5 and get off at East Gate of the Temple of Heaven.

Public buses: East Gate  No.6, 35, 36, 39, 41, 43 Bus

South Gate:No.36, 120, 122, 800, 803, 958 Bus

There are two entrances in the Temple of Heaven, which is the South Gate and East Gate.

Entrance Ticket CNY10

Through Ticket CNY30 in low season CNY35 in peak season

Opening Hours: Gate 6:00-22:00  the Scenic Spots 8:00-17:30 March to June,  8:00-18:00 July to October,  8:00-17:00 November to February   (Stop selling tickets 30min ahead of closing time)
