We stayed 5 nights at the Beihai Shangri-La Hotel and was generally pleased with the hotel. The room was large and comfortable. The towels in the bathroom were not exactly 5-star hotel quality but they were more than adequate. My only complaint was the hotel lounge. We visited it one evening for a drink and found the service poor and the drinks over-priced. If you stay away from the lounge, I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.
