Me and my family really enjoy our stay at Beijing Double Happiness, the stuff was unbeliveble nice and it was like traveling back in time when you steped in to the hotel and you didn´t feel any stress there. We will stay there again next time we go to Beijing...
We had a great stay at the Double Happiness Hotel. Greeted by very friendly staff who spoke good English and upgraded us to the honeymoon suite, how could we not enjoy it. Lovely room, facilities, courtyards as well as a comfortable bed. Breakfast was also good. We recommended it to an American couple from Wisconsin in Datong who had been travelling around China for two months. I hope they took our advice...
I cannot say how much my family enjoyed our stay at the Beijing Double Happiness Courtyard Hotel, it was sensational! In every way the staff, the facilities and the location were perfect and helped make our Beijing visit special. We will not consider any other Hotel for our future trips to Beijing, we felt like part of the family and look forward to the experience again! only difficulty when traveling to china is speaking english which not all is able to. but we were assisted by a wonderful guy fm schindler by the name of xi wei li upon arriving beijing. tks a lot xi wei. our hotel is in the center of both streets, dongsi si tiao and chao neixiao jie sts. which taxi drivers have difficulty locating without the aide of a location map fm the hotel. we never regreted choosing yueweizhuang. we liked its location, its chinese facade, rooms and breakfast. we felt we are really in china. we skipped the usual hotel accomodation to feel the culture and ways of the chineses people and we only experienced it here in yueweizhuang. even daily lives of the chinese, we were able to witness and we were so thrilled. our room no. 608 was located in the ground floor. the room was small but we could not complain coz the staff were all sooooo wonderful and speak english. tks to oliver, phoebe, nikki, jessica. they were so warm and hospitable. internet was 24 hours at the lobby. actually the hotel is near the train station, wangfujing, tain'an men sqaure, forbidden city which are the most frequented places in beijing. we even walked to all these places. and the shops outside our hotel sell anything fm shoes, bags, clothes. you dont have to go far. our favorite restaurant near KFC (we could not read its name) has superb fried peking duck and delicious chinese food at a very cheap price. its full during lunch. i really want to go back to beijing and still stay at yueweizhuang hotel...
The hotel is located in a small street, away from the traffic noise. The hotel is not so far away from the cultural center of the city, but be careful because the real distances are much more important than what you can imagine as you're reading a map of Beijing ! The price of the room is not very expensive compared to the quality of the room : fridge, tea and boiling water, nice typical chinese furnitures. The court inside the hotel is very nice, as well as the building themselves. The only problems we had in the hotel, is a malfunction of the water flush and a big bug we had in the bathroom... The problem were soved promptly by the staff. We also found that the bed was quite hard. It must be a traditional chinese one. If you come to this hotel, you can discover the chinese breakfast. Be sure to confirm your wishes for the breakfast the day before. The price is cheap and the food is surprising but good. You must be hungry to eat everything. If you're travelling in couple, I'd advise you to order one traditional breakfast, and one continental one. It's a great opportunity to taste chinese traditional food. I would like to address a special thank to all the welcome staff for the time they spent for the explanations, including the hotel manager who drove us in emergency, at the last minute, trough Beijing's traffic jams, to the central railway station, just in time to get our train ;-) Thanks again and I hope to come back soon in your hotel !..
