We booked a standard suite for 8 nights. When we got there, they didn't have a room for us for the first night. We were a little upset but fortunately the manager had booked a room in another hotel for us and he made sure we were driven to the second hotel and picked up the next morning.
The suite was nice and large with a separate bedroom, a large kitchen (with stove, fridge, washing machine, microwave) and a nice and modern bathroom. There weren't any cooking utensils nor dishes, except for two tea cups. Complimentary bottled water and tea were provided on a daily basis. There was a computer (connected to Internet) in our living room, which was a pleasant surprise.
The hotel had two restaurants, a convenient store (we could find about anything and it wasn't overpriced) and a few shops. The breakfast was decent (but we had to pay an extra 5$ for a second one -- we were two and there was only one breakfast included) and the hotel staff was friendly. The managers had the front desk spoke good English and were very helpful (they gave directions to our taxi driver, made phone calls for us, etc).
In a nutshell...
Advantages:
- Nice large room with a small balcony
- Free Internet Access in the room
- Decent breakfast
- Not too far from Downtown Beijing
Disadvantages:
- No bike renting service
- Too far to walk to a subway station (had to take a taxi)
In the end we were pleased with our choice. The room was very clean and modern and the price was reasonnable. We would recommend the Beijing Jinqiao Internatonal Garden to anyone.
