Review of Beijing Prime Hotel by Jon

Beijing Prime Hotel

Of the many hotels in which I have stayed during my visits to China, I am including The Prime Hotel as one of my favorites. The decor, to my liking, is more traditional than most and the staff , from housekeeping to management, was professional, very friendly and always willing to be of assistance when needed. Amenities include a full service spa, indoor pool and a reasonably well equipped gym. The location is quite close to many landmarks including The Forbidden City , Tiananmen Square and Benhai Park which is surrounded by a lake and features several restored Temples. The National Art Galley is across the street from the hotel and shopping is close by as well. Being centrally located, the hotel is a 12 to 30 Yuan ( $1.50 to $4.00) taxi ride to Tiananmen Square or the well known shopping areas such as the Pearl Market, The Silk Market and my favorute, The Dirt Market. The food at the hotel is quite good but there are also many fine restaurants, as well as local dumpling and noodle shops, nearby if you are feeling adventerous. Lastly , there was nothing in the way, insofar as the service and staff friendliness, which was exceptionally different from most 5 star hotels in which I have stayed. It was an enjoyable stay and fully deserves a 4 star rating. Truly a great value. I will return .
