When to visit the Forbidden City?
Forbidden City is a massive group of architecture. You can visit it at anytime of the year. It is highly not to visit it during Chinese holidays because there will be many people. There are security checks and X-rays.
There is a audio guide service that you can rent one at the entrance. The audio guide costs CNY40, plus a CNY100 deposit. The deposit will be refunded to you at the exit of the Forbidden City when you return the audio guide.
Visitors can only enter the Forbidden City through the southern gate and exit through the northern gate. It is a one way tour.
The entrance fee of the Forbidden City is CNY60 in peak seasons (April 1st – October 31st ) and CNY40(Novenber 1st – March 31st) in low seasons.
