 | Chongqing Chao Tian Men Hotel
The Chao Tian Men hotel was very close (a short walk) to the Yangste Cruise ship dock. We were given a corner room on the 20th floor with views over the river and the CBD area. As Chongqing city area is built on a series of hill you have little choice but to walk up and down (or take the very cheap taxis) to get to any of the touristy sections. The lobby staff at the hotel were particularly helpful despite speaking very little english. Our room was very comfortable with a good supply of hot water in the shower and an electric jug and cups to make tea or coffee in your room. Impossible to get ice for a drink in your room and breakfast was very Chinese. Overall we thought the room and hotel services were better than just satisfactory and we would happily recommend it to other travellers.
