Bridges: These are the vital links between the different parts of town. Forty-nine stone bridges in a variety of styles join the seven islands created by fifteen rivers and five lakes upon which Tongli stands. Each bridge has a name and these examples will give you an idea of the poetic nature of the inhabitants. Perhaps the most notable are Peace and Tranquility (Taiping) Bridge, Luck (Jili) Bridge and Lasting Celebration (Changqing) Bridge. These are known as Ternate Bridges as they cross three rivers at their confluence and form a natural ring road.

-The small and exquisite Taiping Bridge was built during the reign of emperor Jiaqing of the Qing dynasty; Jili Bridge is an arch bridge and inscribed with age-old couplets describing the beautiful painting-like views at either end;

-Changqing Bridge, also named Guangli Bridge, was originally constructed in 1470 and rebuilt by Xiezhen in 1704. Ternate Bridges are propitious symbols in the eyes of the local residents and they walk over them for good luck during wedding or birthday parties.

-The oldest bridge in Tongli is Reflecting Origin (Siben) Bridge which was built in the Song Dynasty (960 - 1279) while the smallest bridge is called Single Step (Dubu) which is only one and a half meter (5 feet) in length and less than one meter (3 feet) in width. Standing motionless for hundreds of years, the bridges bear witness to the vicissitudes of history and remain an indispensable part of the township.

Residential House: Tongli Town deserves its reputation of a 'museum of ancient architectures' as there are good many houses and temples dating from the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Built along the riversides and decorated with flying eaves, carved windows, porcelain furniture, figured clay bricks, dapper gardens and small stairs leading down to the water, these complexes mean Tongli is a shining pearl among the water-towns south of Yangtze River.

-Retreat and Reflection (Tuisi) Garden, built by the retired official Ren Lansheng during 1885 and 1887, is the most spectacular in Tongli. Its name is derived from an aphorism expressed in a very famous biography called Zuo Zhuan written by Zuo Qiuming in the Eastern Zhou period (770 BC - 221 BC):'Be loyal to the emperor when in officialdom; be meditative upon the previous faults while away from officialdom.' The ingenious design for Tuisi Garden conforms to the local landforms and conditions and covers about 700 square meters (one fifth acre). Compact and harmonious, the garden is in two parts. The residential area to the west consists of an outer house and inner house including the sedan hall, the tea hall, a main reception hall and two buildings forming the actual dwelling. The garden in the east has ponds, Marble Boats, waterside pavilions, halls, kiosks, verandas, rockeries and bridges. Together with flourishing trees and colorful flowers the garden greets visitors with its beauty and charm whatever the season.

- Yuexiu Park: It is the largest park in downtown Guangzhou. Covering an area of 860,000 square meters (212.5 acres), the park is made up of three artificial lakes and seven hills of Yuexiu Mountain; hence the name Yuexiu Park.Yuexiu Park is a perfect combination of cultural relics and ecological tourism, reputed for its pretty water and hills as well as cultural relics. The main places of interest include the stone sculpture of the Five Rams, Zhenhai Tower, the site of the Ming Dynasty City Wall, and Square Cannon Site.

- The Five-Ram Sculpture: It is one of the most famous structures in Guangzhou. It has become the emblem of Guangzhou City. Legend has it that more than 2,000 years ago, Guangzhou was a barren land with people who despite hard work were suffering from famine. One day five immortals in five-color garments came riding on five rams, playing their legendary music. The rams held sheaves of rice in their mouths. The immortals left the sheaves of rice for the Guangzhou people, gave blessings to the city and left. The rams turned into stone and the city of Guangzhou became a rich and populous place. Guangzhou got the name of the City of Rams and the City of Ears.

Over 350 meters in length, Jinli Old Street is the concentration of Chengdu city life. Serried along the two sides of Jinli Old Street are buildings built in the style of The Qing Dynasty. - Wuhou Temple Museum: Situated in the southern suburb of the Chengdu City, Wuhou (an honorific title means Martial Marquis) Memorial Temple was an ancestral temple with a history covering over one-thousand-years, established as a memorial to the prime minister of Shu (221 - 263) in the Three Kingdoms Period (220 - 280) - Zhuge Liang. According to a poem of Dufu a famous poet in Chinese history, described in his poem Prime Minister of Shu written by Dufu "Where can we find the Marquis of Prime Minister, it is outside the Jinguan City among the mass of cypress. " Experts concluded the temple was established during or prior to the Tang Dynasty (618 - 907), but the specific date is not clear. In the early Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644), Wuhou Temple merged with the Zhaolie Temple, the memorial temple of Liu Bei, the Emperor of Shu, forming a special bond between lord and vassal venerated in one temple. Tourists will find the horizontal tablet reads 'Han (the Han Dynasty) Zhaolie (refers to Liu Bei) Miao (temple)' before entering the gate.

- Jiuzhaigou Valley - The well-known Jiuzhaigou is a 35 kilometers long valley with diverse natural beauty. It consists of three main valleys which are at an altitude of about 2,500 meters. The well-protected virgin forests and 108 clear lakes, making the 60,000 hectares of fairyland.

- Multi-colored Lake - It is the smallest and most colorful lake in Jiuzhaigou Valley. It is like a large sapphire inlaid in the virgin forests. It is world-famous for a profusion of colors and limpidity. In the same lake, some waters are azure, some waters are light green and some are orange.

- Nuorilong Fall - Nuorilang means majestic and grand waterfall in Tibetan language. At an elevation of 2,365 meters, the fall is 300 meters wide and 20 meters high. The surging currents rush passionately and dash down in a series of cascades. In the morning, many rainbows can be seen hanging up in the valley in the sunshine, which makes the Nuorilang Fall more charming and attractive.

- Long Lake - It is the longest lake in Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area with the shape of 'S' hidden in the valleys. The lake meanders for miles, with snow-capped peaks, colorful forests, blue sky and white cloud mirrored in the crystal clear water.

- Pearl Beach - It is a large calc-sinter flow fanned out the scraggy beach. The clear waters race down the pale yellow beach and tumble down the rocks, throwing up drops of spray - like pearls glowing in the sunshine.

Transfer to Huanglong. Visit the Huanglong Monastery and the Multi-coloured Pools with hundreds of steps. Take flight to Chengdu and transfer to the hotel.

- Huanglong Scenic and Historical Interest Area - Situated in the Songpan County in the northwest of Sichuan, Huanglong is world-famous for its colorful lakes formed by calcification, snow-capped peaks, glaciers, mountain landscape, diverse forest ecosystems, waterfall and hot springs. Take car to Dujiangyan City to visit the Dujiangyan Irrigation Project of China covering the Dragon-Taming Temple, the Erwang Temple and the Anlan Suspension Bridge. Transfer to Chengdu and visit the Wuhou Memorial Temple.

- Dujiangyan Irrigation Project - Built in 256BC, it is the oldest preserved dam in the world. It is a successful example of water-control, taking advantage of energy of water and nature to fulfill flood discharge, irrigation and sand cleanup as well as the sustaining development. The scenery around the irrigation project is beautiful and there are many places of historical interest.

- Wuhou Memorial Temple - It is a shrine in memory of Zhuge Liang, the prime minister of the Shu Kingdom and a famous military strategist of the Three Kingdoms Period.

Visit Sera Monastery (Sera Monastery lies 4 km north of Lhasa, and was one of only eight [of some 3000] monasteries in all of Tibet to be spared the vicissitudes of the Cultural Revolution. It is here that the monks' famous daily debates take place, at 3.30pm. They are highly stylized with much clapping and stamping, and always attract many spectators. Photos are no problem, which is very rare in Tibet, so make the best of it. Sky burials are still occasionally practiced at Sera, although they are much less common than they used to be because of the unholy and unhealthy interest shown by tourists.) and Drepung Monastery(Drepung Monastery, the largest and richest monastery in Tibet, was founded in 1416 by a disciple of Tsong Khapa under the patronage of a noble family and later enlarged by the Fifth Dalai Lama. Drepung, which means rice heap in Tibetan, lies 8 kilometers west of Mt. Gambo Utse. The monastery covers a floor space of more than 200 thousand square meters. Norbulingka(Norbulingka means "Jeweled Garden," a fitting title for this 250-year-old park built near a medicinal spring in the western suburbs of Lhasa. It began as a summer palace for the Dalai Lama, but was soon expanded to include space for the whole governmental administration. The entire park has more than 370 rooms of different sizes. Lawns are shaded by green trees and embroidered with various flowers. Given the landscaping of flowers and trees around the medicinal spring, Norbulingka is also known as "the park within the park.")

Day 4

Lhasa Tsedang(B/L/D)

Breakfast at hotel. Visit of Samye, the oldest monastery in Tibet. A flat-bottomed boat takes about 1.5 hours to cross the Yarlung Tsangpo River, yet on the return with the current behind, it takes only half an hour. On the opposite bank, board a truck and drive across the sand dunes to Samye.(if the water level is not high enough for sailing, we will drive you to Samye Monastery )Explore the monastery and the many chapels. After lunch, druve back to Tsedang about 45 minutes from Tsedang and visit the fortress structure of Yambu Lakhang.

Day 5

Tsedang Gyantse- Shigatse (B/L/D)

Breakfast at hotel. A spectacular drive that crosses the Kamba La, reached in 2 hours, at 4794 m high, from where there is a spectacular view of Yamdrok Tso Lake then reach to Karo La at 5010 m before following the turquoise waters of the sacred lake of Yamdrok Tso. The road descends in a series of switch backs to eventually join the Yarlung Tsangpo visible way below. This is a long, yet spectacular day. Visit the Gyangtse Kumbum. (This giant stupa rises over four symmetrical floors and a clockwise route spirals up through them passing through eight chapels) in Gyantse and then continue your trip to Shigatse.

Shigatse Tingri/Xegar(B/L/D)

Breakfast at hotel. Drive to Tingri with a stop to visit the Sakya monastery, also known as dPal Sa skya or Pel Sakya ("White Earth" or "Pale Earth") is a Buddhist monastery situated 25 km southeast of a bridge which is about 127 km west of Shigatse on the road to Tingri.

Day 7

Tingri/Xegar Rongbuk (B/LD)

Breakfast at hotel. Visit Rongbuk monastery, situated half-way up the mile-wide, 20-mile long valley at 16,500 feet, is accessible today by vehicle over an obscure, rough track that crosses frozen streams and deep dry washes. In the days of Mallory and Irvine, it took a five-week walk from Darjeeling, in the Indian foothills of the Himalaya, to arrive at this spot. One gradually gains altitude on the high Tibetan plain and, on crossing the last pass, one's entire view is filled with a panorama of the mythically charged horizon: Shishipangma, Mount Everest, and Cho Oyu are among the great peaks that lie ahead and Mt Everest base camp. towers over the region. Besides, more than 40 snow capped peaks are open to mountain climbing enthusiasts. Each year, thousands of adventurers and mountaineers come to Tibet to challenge both nature and themselves. Southern Tibet also offers primeval forests, running waters, and a relatively mild climate.

Breakfast at hotel. To Shigatse, the second largest city in Tibet and important trading and administrative centre. Visit Shigatse market and Tashilunpo Monastery founded in 1447 and one of the four major monasteries of the Yellow hat faction .

Lhasa-Yangbajin Namtso Laka-Lhasa (B/L/D)

Breakfast at hotel. Drive to visit the Yangbajin (Yangbajing is a small town 75km to the north of Lhasa city, at the south end of the Mt. Nyianchentangula, is famous for its geothermos heat, because of the movement of two crust plates (the Euro - Asia plate and the Indian ocean plate), this area became fratured, and rose violently, forming the Nyianchentangula mountain range. Because of the underearth heat and the cool air around, these combine to make this area a nice place for husbandry in Tibet. The wool produced from here is in high quality.) Namtso Lake, (another holy lake in Tibet, is located near Damshung, 4718 meters above sea level and is the highest saltwater lake in the world and the second largest saltwater lake in China. Around it is huge grassland, in summer time it is nice to see yaks, sheep, horses, wild donkeys, rock goats, bears and other wild animals wondering around. Breakfast at hotel. Visit Shoton Festival(during Aug 20-29 every year). Norbulingka The opera festival is one of the greatest festivals in Tibet. In ancient times pious folks went into mountain hermitages for penance, and on the last day of which yogurt was served for meal, entertainment of folk songs and dances followed. Since the 7th century, opera performances were held for days in Norbulingka. Presently, opera contests and distribution of prizes are held for seven days.
