We booked the hotel specified as a room with double bed with water view. But at the time of check-in, we were told that their understanding of double bed is a bed large enough for a couple to sleep in - in our case they provided a king size bed. As we have a ten year old, it would be a problem. We called EXPEDIA, they called the hotel, the manager on duty insisted that they did nothing wrong and we had to take a third twin bed in a 2 twin beds room with additional fee. We had to agree as it was late and we had nowhere else to go. Then we asked that it must be a non-smoking as our daughter is allergic to tobacco. However as soon as we opened the door we could smell something. So we checked with the room service staff at that floor and were told that this room can be used for non-smoking room because matches was taken away from this room and some spray was used to treat this room. We refused to move in and were transferred to another floor where a sign of non-smoking was displayed on the door of every room.
The only good thing about this hotel is the daily room cleaning is OK.
In the hotel, we book Li River tour in the reception tour counter, a boat trip from Guilin to Yanshou and back to hotel by a bus. What it does not say tell everyone in the group is there are some sightseeing places in Yanshou and on the way back are not included the package. Our tour guide started asking us to visit these places with extra fees and they are quite expensive. I must mention that the bus took us back has such disgusting smell as if it was used to transport a thousand pairs of old sneakers.
