Review of Kunming Guandu Hotel by Elaine

I stayed two nights at the beginning and end of my trip through Yunnan. The first room was very nice, clean and comfortable. The second room was pretty bad. The carpet was filthy and the shower was not enclosed at all, which meant that the entire bathroom floor was a giant puddle for several hours after bathing. This is not terribly abnormal for Chinese hotels, but this was probably the worst shower / bathroom situation of any Chinese hotel I've ever stayed in. However, the first room I stayed in had a very nice shower that barely leaked at all. So it's pretty hit or miss. The staff were helpful, and the fact that the front desk is open 24 hours is a huge plus. My flights into and out of Kunming were very late and very early.
