Review of Xiamen Lujiang Hotel by Tan

In Feb 2012,we arrived at the airport and caught a taxi to the hotel which costs approximately 40 reminbi and checking in was no hassle with the bookings under China Tour Net.However we were charged 4% govt tax on top of the room rates quoted despite no hidden taxes stated under the bookings by Chinanet tour website .That aside the Hotel is well located and next to the busy pedestrian mall of Zhongsan road where there are many local snacks and shopping available.Walmart and Carrefour are located down Zhongsan road as you turn left at the road junction where traffic is allowed and you can find many eateries and food court in the vicinity.As you exit right from the hotel,the gulanyu ferry terminal is easily located across the road via an underground passage way where again many vendors lined the stairways and thoroughfare.One can also purchase the train tickets to Fuzhou near the ferry terminal and the tourist bus picks up passengers at the bus stop here.The deluxe room we booked at the hotel is spacious and clean with wi fi available.Breakfast is good with an array selection of both local and western choices.There is a good noodle station counter with the popular xiamen fish ball available.Dim sum is also available at the 7th floor restaurant and the char siew pau is recommended.English is limited at the reception but is sufficient to get by.
