As usual in China the room, and the whole hotel, smells llke an ashtray. Clean enough, but shabby and definitely past it's use-by date.
Asked for their best view and got. a scene which wouldn't have looked out of place in Oliver Twist! Grotty back alley. But then this whole part of town is in decay. That said, it is very central and a short walk from lots of shops and eats. Lots of very pleasant and helpful staff, who, despite having no English, could not have been more helpful.
Suggest staying in Yichang East (really a separate city) which is much newer. cleaner, and closer to long distance bus, train. and airport.
