Getting to Foggy was a little tricky but we managed to figure it out with some help and because one of us spoke Chinese. Just to let future travellers know, from Guilin city, you want to go to the main bus station to get the bus to where Foggy Resort is at. Go behind the main bus station building to where all the buses are. You will see another ticketing place that is for short-distance buses. You want to get on a bus to Guan(4th tone) Yan(2nd tone). Buses leave every 20 minutes and the buses are located right next to the buses that leave for Yangshuo, so ask around if you get lost. Bus tickets cost 12RMB. Get off at the final stop, the Guan Yan(crown cave) Scenic Area. Once you get off the bus, walk up the hill on the left (you'll see a small sign in green). Walk down the dirt path for about ten minutes and the resort is on your left :)..

We had a nice time at the Foggy Resort, although we were quite surprised at its location. Our bus dropped us off at the main Guan Yan town area and we had to walk about 600 meters through a dusty, dung-filled path with no one in sight before we found the resort. It sort of appeared out of nowhere so we were pleasantly surprised. The resort was very deserted, with hardly anyone except for us, perhaps because we didn't go at peak season. The first room they gave us, which was the big bed room大床房 was really small and I immediately starting sneezing and getting a headache because it was mouldy. The bathroom was dark as well. I was really unhappy then and almost considered cancelling our stay there. That room was A 001. We managed to convince them to let us change rooms and we just decided to get a standard room 标准房 instead since we had surveyed the rooms and noticed that those rooms we much bigger with clean renovated bathrooms. After moving rooms to B 009, we were much happier and we had a good stay. One thing that upset us was that no one told us the breakfast times. On our first day, we went to breakfast at about 9am and we were served a good Chinese breakfast. However, on the 2nd day we went at 9.30 and were told that there was no more food and all the workers had eaten our food because breakfast time was over. We were quite upset because Foggy Resort is in a very isolated area and you have to walk 15 minutes to town, with no guarantee of English menus available. But in the end we ordered from the lunch menu and paid separately at the hotel restaurant. Either way, our stay was overall a good one. The environment and breathtaking view from the resort made up for any unpleasantness we may have went through. It's a good place to get away from the city and feel at one with nature! We ended up staying only 2 out of the 3 nights we had planned to stay. There isn't much else to do in the area other than check out the cave and explore the rice fields and swim in the pool, so by the 2nd day we were out of things to do! There is no internet in the rooms, wifi or cable. There is pretty good wifi at the lobby area so you can sit there and get connected if you need to. The bathrooms had decent water pressure too...
