In summary, get a seaview deluxe room with buffet breakfast included and you will enjoy an excellent value vacation at a top-notch property. Take the taxi into Sanya city for open air dinners at seaside restaurants for $12 to $20 for two. Never take an unmetered, unlicensed taxi. Some taxi driver will negotiate with you for rides to the top tourist destinations at a bargain rate, such as "end of the earth," Buddhist Park and the Li People Minority Park. Only warning: this is not a night-life glitzy area. If you want that, go to one of the other beach areas.
