booked myself in for a 5 nights there. When I checked in, I immediately regretted. 2 guys at the check in counter of what looks like an office lobby. Very disinterested in what they are doing (Felt I just checked myself into a 3rd rate brothel). Anyway thought I give the place a chance. They gave me a key and I went up to my own floor carrying my own bags. When the lift open, I was met with this thick fungus smell on that floor. Felt sick immediately. Went straight inot the apartment and found the apartment large. However, maintenance and housekeeping looks minimal. A quick check of the bed and found it below par and not acceptible.
As I checked in at around 9pm, I have to decide if I should suffer it and stay the night or find an alternative. Pull out my laptop and tried to plug in the ethernet cable provided in the apartment. Of course it doesn\'t work! A quick call to the counter and was told have to wait till tomorrow when the technical guy is in.
Went downstair to the counter and told the guy that I want to cancel my bookings and not even stay the night. However, I would have to first find alternatives. He gave me half and hour to find a alternative place or charge me for half day!.
Fortunately, there was an internet access point at the lobby which I have to pay to use. However, took me close to an hour before I could find an alternative (Somerset xuhui). Paid the half day charge and checked out.
I was a big relief when I moved into Somerset. The difference is like Heaven and Hell.
No more trial and error for me. From now on, I am going to stay with a name I know.
