I booked a personal tour with option A, meaning "Mutianyu Great Wall + Tiananmen Square + Forbidden City". As requested the tour started an hour earlier but instead of starting at great wall we went to Forbidden City, don't know the reason why? As this spot opens only at 09:00 but tour started at 07:00 we had to wait.... After a brief walkthrough we headed for great wall - no Tiananmen Square at all, don't know the reason why? Travel to great wall took 2.5 hours so the time on the wall was limited as well. Trip back took again 2.5 hours. Bottom line: tour duration 07:00 to 16:15 = 9 hours, pure visiting time 3 hours hence 6 hours of waiting and traffic jam. Guide and driver have been very freindly and did their best to accomodate me - that's the main reason for the 4 stars. If you want to see more better schedule more days than just one "all-inclusive" trip!
