In the middle of this month, we went on a 10 day trip through Beijing, Xi'an, Guilin and Shanghai. The highlight of our trip was the Great Wall. Anna was our guide in Beijing and she very well-rounded, providing a historical and current perspective of the city.
Our favorite site was in Xi'an: the terra cotta warriors. I anticipated that with the throngs that visit the site, we would be whisked along in a queue past the exhibit, but we had plenty of time to take it all in and get photos from every angle.
Jessica was an excellent guide through Guilin and the Li River area. We biked through the picturesque countryside and hiked to a colorful and beautifully arrayed minority settlement with Jessica leading as surefooted and sweet as could be. Jessica, too, was excellent.
Our final guide, Kathy, in Shanghai is an intellectual and now a friend. We enjoyed her presentations immensely and loved listening to her point of view and her insights. Shanghai is the most beautiful city I have ever seen. What a trip! I would highly recommend Chinatour.net and each of our excellent guides.
