I have just returned home after a 9 week trip and I am afraid I have to give you a zero rating as my friend and I were stuck at Dunhuang airport at 2300 on 16/5/2019 when we were told that our Urumqi Airways flight (UQ2586) to Urumqi had been cancelled. I had booked 2 flights with you - one to Urumqi and on 18/5 2019 a flight to Kashgar with Tianjin Airways. Had I not been told? No I had not been informed by e-mail of this cancellation which led to forfeiting our 2 night stay at the Mercure Hotel and a day tour to Heavenly Lake (all prepaid and amounting to 1238RMB). I do not have a smart phone and so had no way of downloading an app. so was reliant solely on e-mails. Luckily China Eastern called Urumqi Air and agreed to fly us back to Xi'an where we had started our trip on May 8 and then flew us to Kashgar the next day.Presumably they had some agreement between the airlines. However we had to stay at the airport overnight and due to incorrect names on our boarding passes missed the 0900 flight and had to wait until the 1400 flight- all very inconvenient and could have been avoided if we had been notified of the plane cancellation. Who is at fault? I presume China Tours as I was not in direct contact with Urumqi Air. I am asking for some compensation for our Urumqi bookings. Looking forward to hearing from you Jaqueline Smith.
