Review of Beijing Taimushan International Business Hotel by Jennifer

Beijing Taimushan International Business Hotel

We did not feel safe when we stayed at Beijing Taimushan International Business Hotel. The deadbolt didn't lock and, even though the rest of the door did, it was obvious that it had been busted open and repaired several times. It was evident that the door to the bathroom also had been forced open. When checking out, we noticed that they had an hourly rate for their rooms. So, after sleeping with my knife by the bed our first night, we decided today to find a new place. The hotel is in a good location in Beijing, but the area around the hotel was a bit uncomfortable...we did not feel safe when walking in the neighborhood after dark. The hotel staff spoke little or no English. On a positive note, there was A/C, a private bathroom, and large beds in our room on the 6th floor. We did not feel safe walking on the floors without shoes on our feet. The bathroom had mold, holes in the towels, and the bedroom floor did not seem clean. I have stayed in many different hotels around the world and but this was the least safe and most uncomfortable I have ever felt in a hotel that I can remember. We were thankful for help from a different hotel staff to communicate and help us during our difficult experience to change hotels. We did have a really meaningful visit to China and are very grateful that it all worked out in the end. It is difficult to know the reality of a place from the pictures and even from the reviews online. For some people, this is a good hotel, and we were among those for whom it was not a good place to stay. We enjoy travel and it is my hope that we were a blessing to people at each hotel. Each person has a unique experience when traveling to new places. May your experience be a good one whether you stay here or there or anywhere!
