We stayed in a very smelly room that reminded us of moldy basements and only when we turned off the airconditioner did the smell seem to disapate a bit. We found that the people at the front desk not to be very helpful or friendly when we needed information. The area around the hotel is not very pretty but close enough to walk to the bund which was about 30 minutes away. The che po market was right behind the hotel which was convienient, but not enjoyable as we were followed around constantly from the moment we walked in the door and harassed to come to their shops. Much prefer the markets in Beijing.
Would not stay here again.
