Day 1  Arrival in Hong Kong

Upon landing at Hong Kong Airport, please find your way to B P International House we have booked for you. There are three modes of transport. The first is to take Airport Express to Kowloon Station, and transfer to free shuttle bus K4 to the hotel. Or, you may get on bus A21 from the airport to Prudential Center, and then walk south for about 150 yards, and turn west to Austin Road. The hotel is 200 yards in front of you. You can also take a taxi directly to the hotel with a fare of around HKD 280. After check-in, you can spend the rest of the day having a good rest or getting familiar with the city.

We only reserve the two-night hotel with daily breakfast for you, and leave Hong Kong sightseeing tour for your own arrangement. Hong Kong is famous for its convenient public transport, so you can easily get to most attractions.

Day 2 Hong Kong

After breakfast, you are advised to take the Peak Tram up to the Victoria Peak. Standing at the peak, you will have a bird's-eye-view of the whole city. The nearby Peak Tower is also worth exploring for housing interesting sights like the Madame Tussauds Hong Kong and Sky Terrace 428. The suggestion for the afternoon is to set out to Repulse Bay or Aberdeen to enjoy the intoxicating coastal scenery. Afterwards, you may roam around Stanley Market and buy some souvenirs or handicrafts for your family and friends.

Day 3 Hong Kong - Beijing

Today, you will go to Hong Kong Airport by shuttle bus or taxi by yourself for the flight to Beijing. The air ticket will be booked for you in advance by us. Upon your arrival at Beijing Capital Airport, our local guide will meet you outside the customs, and accompany you to the hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to relax.

Day 4 Beijing

A visit to Tiananmen Square starts today's itinerary. Our guide will show you around the major buildings on the large square, like Tiananmen Tower, Monument to People's Heroes, and National Museum of China. Walking through the Tiananmen Tower, we will come to the Forbidden City, which is the imperial palace of the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911). Seeing exquisite palaces, halls and pavilions, it won't be hard to imagine the luxurious lifestyle of the ancient royal family. After the visiting, an a la carte lunch will be served at a decent restaurant to let you taste authentic Chinese food. The lunch is valued at CNY150 per person, and included in our price.

In the afternoon, the guide will accompany you to the Temple of Heaven, where emperors prayed for good harvests in ancient times. If you shout at the Heaven Heart Stone of the Circular Mound Altar, you can hear the sound waves echoing clearly. At night, a lively Chinese Kung Fu Show is in store for you at the Red Theater.

Day 5 Beijing

After a big breakfast at the hotel, the guide and driver will take you to the Badaling Great Wall, the most famous and best-preserved section of the Great Wall of China. It snakes up and down the mountain ridges and stretches to the distance. Several fierce battles took place here. Cracks and holes on the battlements are like scars reminding you of its glorious past as the unbreakable defensive screen of the nation.

We do not arrange lunch today due to the low quality of the nearby restaurants. Hence, you may have some fast food by yourself. Your guide is happy to offer some suggestions. Afterwards, the guide will accompany you to the Sacred Way. There are 12 stone figures and 24 stone animals along the way. During the return trip, we will drive by the Bird's Nest (National Stadium). Its unique exterior is eye-catching at a distance.

Day 6 Beijing - Xian

Today's group tour starts with a visit to the Summer Palace, the imperial garden of the Qing Dynasty (1644 - 1911). On the Longevity Hill, you can see some elegant pavilions, grand halls, and tranquil temples. Then, we will have an a la carte lunch in a famous restaurant. The meal is valued at CNY150 per person and included in our price. The delicious food and great atmosphere of the restaurant will certainly make you satisfied.

In the afternoon, the guide will lead you to the traditional Hutongs and courtyards, where you can take a glimpse of the local life. After that, the driver will take you to Beijing Capital Airport for a flight to Xian, the capital of thirteen ancient dynasties. Upon landing, our local guide will pick you up at the airport and escort you to the hotel.

Day 7 Xian

In the morning, we will come to the Terracotta Army Museum. It is part of the Mausoleum of Emperor Qin Shi Huang (259 - 210 BC), and a must-see attraction of Xian. The life-sized mighty warriors are different from one another in hair styles, clothes, and facial expressions. Some are standing in battle array. Some are squatting and ready to shoot. Others are sitting in the bronze chariots and commanding the army. Then, you will be invited to a local family, and have a home cooked a la carte lunch, which is valued at CNY120 per person and included in our price. It will be an unforgettable experience to have authentic Chinese food in a local family during your 11-day China group tour.

In the afternoon, the guide will accompany you to the Xian Museum and Small Wild Goose Pagoda. The pagoda was built in the Tang Dynasty (618 - 907) to store the Buddhist sutras brought back from India. It originally had thirteen storeys, but the upper two were destroyed during several earthquakes. You can even ascend the time-honored pagoda along the winding wooden stairs. In the evening, you will be entertained by the wonderful Tang Dynasty Music and Dance Show at Shaanxi Song and Dance Theater while enjoying the featured local Dumpling Dinner.

Day 8 Xian

After breakfast, our guide will pick you up at the hotel and take you to the ancient City Wall. When ascending the wall, you can enjoy magnificent city gates, barbicans, turrets, moats, and crenellations, take some photos, or rent a bike to cycle on the wall at your own expense. After around 2 hours' stay there, the guide will lead you to Shaanxi History Museum. More than 370,000 cultural relics are exhibited there, including bronze wares, pottery figures, gold and silver wares, and murals. You will get a basic knowledge of the glorious history of Xian and the whole Shaanxi Province.

At noon, an a la carte lunch will be served in a fancy restaurant. The lunch is valued at CNY120 per person, and included in our price. Then, we will continue the trip to the Great Mosque, which integrates traditional Chinese architectural features into Muslim buildings. Afterwards, you will get some free time to stroll around the nearby Muslim Quarter for a feast of local snacks.

Day 9 Xian - Chengdu

In the morning, we will take you to the North Railway station for a morning high-speed train to Chengdu. The train journey takes around 4 hours. Upon arrival, our Chengdu guide will meet you and accompany you to the hotel. Afternoon is free for you to explore the city by yourself.

Day 10 Chengdu

Today, we will visit Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding in the morning. Cute pandas play with one another, eat bamboos, or stare at you with their little eyes. They are so lovely that you want to keep them as pets, but it is impossible for their rarity. There are only less than 2,000 pandas in the world, and the majority are in Chengdu. Grab the rare chance to see and take pictures of the cute pandas. Afterwards, the guide will lead you to the Jinsha Site Museum, which is the original location of the Jinsha Kingdom 3,000 years ago. More than 5,000 rare cultural relics have been excavated there, including gold objects, bronze wares, jade, lacquers, and ivory carvings, as well as tons of ivory, thousands of antlers, and pieces of pottery. Also, you can enjoy a 4D movie "Dream Back to Jinsha" to review the rise and fall of this ancient kingdom. Today's trip will end at the Wide and Narrow Alley, which is a renowned recreational block to feel the art and food culture of the city.

Day 11 Departure from Chengdu

Your 11-day China small group tour will end today. Please head for Chengdu Airport for the departing flight on your own. The hotel-airport transfer will not be arranged by us because of the different flight schedules of the group members.
