Day 1 Shanghai Arrival
Upon your arrival at Shanghai, we will meet you at the exit of the arrival hall holding a sign with your name on it.
Day 2 Shanghai
Pick up from hotel in the morning and your tour bigins with Shanghai Museum, which possesses a collection of 120,000 precious works of art and help you to get to know Chinese history and culture. Then visit the classic garden- Yu Garden, which has a history of over 400 hundred years and an architectural style of the Ming dynasty.
Have a la carte lunch at noon at our selected restaurant.
In the afternoon, have a walk around the famous bund area and Nanjing Road, and take a short cruise on the Huangpu River. Back to your hotel after the tour.
Day 3 Shanghai - Luoyang
Visit Zhujiajiao Water Town, which is small town with a history of 1700 years, is a place to stay away from the crowdness of the city. In the town, there is an ancient street filled with representative ancient buildings from the Ming and Qing Dynasties, attracting great numbers of domestic and foreign tourists.
Then back to downtown and visit Jade Buddha Temple and an old cultural street. After the tour, we will drop you off at the train station for your overnight train to Luoyang (soft sleeper).
Day 4 Luoyang
The train arrives at Luoyang Train Station in the morning (exact time based on the train ticket we bought). Our guide will meet you at the exit of the train station and transfer to the hotel.
Then visit the famous Longmen Grottoes. Exquisitely caved and beautifully shaped with a vivid and delicate appearance, the Longmen Grottoes are known as a bright pearl in the artistic treasure house of the sculptures of the world. Then, visit the famous Shaolin Temple. Shaolin does have a long tradition of Chinese martial arts, as the saying goes ‘All martial arts (gongfu) are from Shaolin.’ This is partly because Shaolin was located in a strategic area so they had to protect the temple themselves from wars or any invading, and partly because of the support of most emperors from different dynasties, which came after the 13 Shaolin monks once saved Li Shimin, the emperor of the Tang Dynasty (618-907).
Transfer back to the hotel after the tour.
Day 5 Luoyang-Xian
Take a high-speed train (second class seat) to Xian in the morning for a trip about 2 hours. Pick you up from the train staion. First we will visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, one of the most famous Buddhist pagodas in China. Then head to Shaanxi History Museum to learn about Chinese history and culture. Transfer to your hotel after the tour.
Day 6 Xian
First visit the marvelous Terra-cotta Warriors, which was described as the one of the eight wonders in the world and one of the greatest archaeological discoveries in the twentieth centuries. It is said that each of the warriors was created with a prototype. They just look like real persons with different actions or expressions.
Have lunch ar a local family and learn to make dumplings.
In the afternoon, visit the ancient city wall, which was once one of the most impressive military defense systems in the world. Cycling is optional on the wall. Then visit the Great Mosque, a muslim mosque first built over 1200 years ago in Tang Dynasty.
Back to your hotel after the tour.
Day 7 Xian -Pingyao
Take a high speed train (second class seat) to Pingyao in the morning. The ancient walled city of Pingyao was built in the 14th century, and was named a UNESCO world heritage in 1997, as "an exceptionally well-preserved example of a traditional Han Chinese city."
In the afternoon, we will drive out of the city to visit the Wang Family's Compound. More castle than cosy home, this grand Qing-dynasty former residence with 231 courtyards and 2078 rooms has been very well maintained.
Day 8 Pingyao
Today you will visit Pingyao Ancient City. Visit Rishengchang Former Bank, Ming and Qing Dynasties Street, China Escort Agency, Pingyao Ancient Government Office and etc.
Then go to the Shuangling Monastery.
Day 9 Pingyao-Beijing
Pick you up in the morning and transfer you to Pingyao Ancient City train station for high-speed trains (second class seat) to Beijing.
Upon your arrival at Beijing, We will pick you up from the train station and take you to Beijing Hutong for a short visit by rickshaw. Then transfer you to your hotel.
Day 10 Beijing
Pick you up from hotel in the morning and start your tour with Tian'anmen Square. The square has witnessed several important events of China. Then proceed to the nearby Forbidden City, which remained the residence of the emperors for nearly five hundred years. The layout of the Forbidden City is based on a Chinese cosmic diagram of the universe that clearly defines the north-south and east-west axes. The buildings represent the largest and best-preserved examples of Chinese traditional architecture found today.
Have a larte lunch at a selected restaurant.
In the afternoon, visit the most famous imperial garden-the Summer Palace. It is a blend of natural scenery and artificial landscape. The mountains, waters and architecture together form picturesque scenes that are amazingly beautiful. UNESCO declared the Summer Palace “a masterpiece of Chinese landscape garden design".
Day 11 Beijing
On this day, your tour begins with the magnificent Great Wall, you can choose to go to Mutianyu section or Badaling section. Needless to say, the Great Wall is a must-see attraction for whoever come to China. Now, it is time to see for yourself.
Have lunch at our selected restaurant.
If time permits, we will stop by at the Olympic Stadiums -Bird's Nest and Water Cube for a short exterior visit. Then visit the Temple of Heaven, which was the place where ancient emperors came every winter solstice to worship heaven and to solemnly pray for a good harvest.
Day 12 Beijing Departure
We will pick you up from your hotel and transfer you to the airport at appointed time. See off and it is the end of the tour.
