We had a magnificent 2 day tour. We were met at our hotel by the lovely Cherry who explained to us that our 2 days would be conducted the opposite way round from what we had originally been told: since it was such a glorious sunny day, she thought it best that we make the most of the sunshine and visit the Great Wall, as cloudy weather was forecast for the following day. We could not have hoped for better weather, or for a better guide. Our day started with a visit to The Longevity Tomb. Cherry then walked for miles along the Wall with us. On our second day we went to the Forbidden City, a fascinating visit to the silk factory, to the Temple of Heaven and the beautiful Summer Palace. We learnt so much from Cherry, whose English was excellent.
