Amazing time at the Great Wall. Glad I read reviews first and went for the private tour option without a guide because we had 5 hours to do what ever we wanted and it was the best decision. However the drive there was scary. Driver sped the whole way and passed cars in front by driving in on coming traffic. I was almost in tears when we got to the wall. I hated that part. So before we left the great wall I told him to slow down. And it was a lot better and we still got home in good time. So remember to tell them to drive carefully and you will be fine. The private tour without guide is best option. You don’t need a guide on the wall. And we stayed and hour away and got picked up from hotel and dropped off. Didn’t receive the lunch which I paid for, and wasn’t given option to be dropped off at another location like it said in the tour guide. However couldn’t be bothered caring so was a good day
