i come to beijing on a yearly bases and i always stay at this hotel for a total period of three weeks, there are no bag porters but who needs them anyway as you have traveled half way round the world carring your own anyway.girls at the front desk speak only a little english which is diffelcult sometimes,if there is a problem.cleaning ladies are the most friendly but only change towels and sheets but dont vacuum at all for the 3 week stay.but then you get what you pay for if you want 5 star service you have to pay alot more.i stay in the best room at the hotel, its big with sepparate room with computer etc for 398 rmb@night which i think is a good price as i have stayed in many 5 stars for around 500 rmb but you will only get a little room for that money...

This hotel was exceptionally dirty. The Hanting Express hotel chain is everywhere in Beijing and was infinitely better for 100cny less per night. The breakfast was atrocious - a big disappointment after seeing the other review (again - try Hanting if you want cheap; you get a full buffet with both Chinese and western foods). The reception staff was below average in terms of politeness. There was no porter to help with bags as there always is in other hotels in China of pretty much any caliber at all. The cleaners actually took my dirty towels from the "please clean" bucket, folded them, and put them back on the rack. I missed the waist basket with a piece of paper on the far side of the room, and noticed that it never got picked up in 4 days. The bed linen was never cleaned, and the bed was only made 2 out of the four days. By the way - you will not find "Super 8" anywhere outside, inside, or around this hotel - so don't anybody for directions. I think it was called Starway. Anyway - go to the correct address and just have faith. Oh, the toilet clogged after blowing my nose and tossing in what might have been 4-5 sheets of toilet paper. It didn't quite overflow the toilet. The cleaning staff, however, managed to make about 1 square meter of the actual room carpet when fixing it. Not sure how though. Pretty disgusting. Oh, soap and shampoo replenishment is not consistent either, unless you actually hide or throw away the bottle. Smoking in the elevators is common, making them unusable if you're sensitive to smoke. The walls are VERY thin and the din from both the other rooms and the street out front (if you're on that side of the building; I was in 427) might be hard to tolerate for people with babies or who are sensitive to noise. The good thing about this hotel... Actually, it's what you would expect from a 1 star hotel in the west. Hanting would barely be a two star, but for the price is a much better value...

I enjoyed this place. Close to the US Embassy, but not expensive. Fine and clean and on a quiet, treed back street. The staff were really nice -- helped carry bags and were nice to my 2-year old daughter too!..

This is a great Hotel I would say it was the most friendly and helpful I have stayed in through my 11 months travel of China. The 2 receptionists were always helpful and went out of there way to make sure you had a comfortable stay I would say that the only drawback would be that it is not close to any tourist attractions but it suited my needs as I was in Beijing this time to carry out business at the Australian Consulate which was very handy to the hotel and is reason for picking in the first place. Through my travels in China I have stayed at many hotels and I would rate there Breakfasts about 1/10 but this Hotel I would rate 10/10 it was great, the first place I have sayed where they actually had "COFFEE" and "TOAST".The waitress serving and helping with breakfast spoke fluent English and was very nice to talk to. In summary I would say that this is a great little hotel and great value for money I would definately stay again. Thankyou all at the Beijing Super Hotel, TuanJieHu Lake. P.S Why is it called TuanJieHu Lake when there is not a lake in sight...
