The hotel offers OK inexpensive accommodation good for a one night stopover at Beijing Airport. Getting to cetnral Beijing is quite complicated, you have to get back to the airport to catch the Airport Express. But the saff was very helpful and so this did not become a major problem. There was no one to meet me at the airport as agreed, but possibly this was because the flight was early. The Tourist Information helped me in getting in touch with the hotel and someone came quickly to collect me..
The hotel provided complimentary shuttle to and from the airport and was near stores and restaurants in a nice neighborhood. The road the hotel was under construction and as a result wasn't as interesting as the surrounding area except for Amber's Bar, which is a great place to eat and drink. English is spoken there and you're likely to meet up with other travelers and make new Chinese friends. The hotel staff is extremely helpful and efficient. The breakfast was only OK though. Would stay here again...
The lobby and rooms were beautiful! The art deco on the walls and ceiling of the room, along with the unique backlighting to the artistic headboard, created a pleasing atmosphere. I enjoyed the complimentary Jasmine tea in the comfortable chairs. The hotel was an inexpensive cab ride from the airport and provided complimentary shuttle to the airport the next morning. I was able to walk to nearby stores and restaurants. When I first entered the room, I was unfamilar with the unique lighting device and needed to request assistance which was provided promptly and courtesly. The only downside was that my visit was during the month of January and the hotel room was slightly chilly...
