I was during 3 nights at this hotel (March 2007). The hotel is very nice, but when you leave the lobby, you can feel that you are in a very old hotel. The room is cleaned, but it's smellyn somke and I'm not somker. The sports center has old machines and most of them out of order. Inner restaurants (Japanese one) are OK, but you must walk around all the suburbs in the hotel. In the room, the fornitures maybe are more than 20 years old. Anyway, the hotel needs to be painted in the rooms and corridor, there is a big difference between the lobby and public sites and the rooms...

We really enjoyed our relaxed visit to the Yuyang Hotel. We were not here long so did not use it for a base for sightseeing, only preparing to return home. They did try to change our price higher from what we were quoted on our reservation through Hotel Guide China and charged us for the breakfast in the end. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Tipping must have caught on here. We took the bus from the airport as we were told would work. We ended up lugging our luggage quite a way to get to the hotel. This is OK if you have a small amount of luggage and much cheaper. We decided to take a taxi back to the airport. It would be nice if this hotel arranged for airport delivery and pickup aat the door since they are so close to the route of the airport bus...

The room with 2 twin beds was very smelly and in poor condition, lower than 1 star rating. $57 US for this was extremely overpriced. Do not recommend it...

The YuYang hotel represents great value for money, its well positioned for the exhibition centres and also for the discount shopping arcades, the most any Taxi ride was 10 RMB. Its not a prestigious hotel, but I was not looking for prestige, I was looking for value for money and a clean hotel. The rooms are acceptable, the staff and door men are all very courteous, friendly and helpful. I was able to get internet access in my room free of charge, a must for any businessman and with breakfast included, this represented the best value for money I had on my recent business trip around Asia. I will be back again next year...

I stayed in the YuYang Hotel in September 2005 for three nights. The hotel is fairly nice in the public areas such as the lobby, but the rooms seem old, musty, outdated and in need for refurbishment. The surrounding area is OK and there is shopping, restaurants and nightlife within close proximity of the hotel. The biggest problem is the lack of English-speaking staff at the hotel which made it diificult to do business. The facilities are normal for a 3 star hotel with average restaurants, entertinment & service facilities. Its an OK place to stay for a few days, but I wouldn't want to spend a week there. Dave Larner..
