Locating in Yanqing County of Beijing, the Shuiguan Great Wall is just 1.24 miles away from the Badaling Great Wall. the wall built during the Ming Dynasty(1368-1644). It is the most complete and strongest section of the ten thousand li Great Wall and famous for its precipitous cliffs.
As you may know, the wall was ancient military defensive work to fight against the enemies’ invasion. The water system was used to defend against enemies and formed a pass, hence it gets name: Shuiguan, which translated as Water Pass.
Built with stone blocks and grey bricks, seven watch towers and one arrow tower you can find here.
The wall was open to public in 1995 after repair. Besides climbing the wall, you can also visit the Genghis Khan Palace, the Stone Buddha Temple, Luotuo Peak (Camel Peak) and the Great Wall Stele Forest nearby.

Transport: Take bus No. 877 (get off at the stop of Stone Buddha Temple). It is only 10 minutes bus ride away from Badaling Great Wall.
