Jinshanling section of Great Wall from Wangjing Tower to Longu Pass strenches 10.5 kilometers and located in the Miyun County. the Wall was bulit in Longqin Ming Dynasty(1370). it is 140 kilometers away from Beijing downtown. it was evaluated as the best of the Ming Great Wall with 67 watch towers, 2 beacon towers and 5 passes.
This section of the Wall has complicated structure: intense and various watch tower, every 50-100 meters a watch toewer with the hight of 5-8 meters stands, whose wall based on great stones. some are bricks timberwork, others are brick masonry structures. some are two-storeies, others are single storey. various roofs: flat top, dome top, the horse fall, the roof of boat, etc. Each watch tower with its distinct shape and characterisitcs was noted as “the geek of the Great Wall”

How to Get to Jinshanling Great Wall
Take the special tourist bus at Dongzhimen bus terminus in Beijing. Visitors can take bus 974, 975 or 942 to Dongzhimen bus terminus to take the tourist bus. The special tourist bus leaves from Beijing at 07:30 and back to Beijing at 14:40. It operates on weekends and statutory holidays during the peak season (April 3rd to November 1st ). It is worth mentioning that visitors who take this tourist bus to Jinshanling for one day trip can enjoy the ‘One day Travel Package’, which costs CNY120 in total for the round-trip bus ticket, admission fee, cable way, and the tourist car at the scenic spot.
