We spent 4 nights at the Zen Garden in Lijiang and loved the hotel. Our rooms were on the second floor with space heaters and electric blankets. Although the temperature was warm during the day, after the sun set it became chilly. Our rooms were on the second floor and provided a beautiful view of the old town especially at night. One disadvantage was the loud music coming from some distant bar/restaurant in the evening that we could hear only from the second floor. However, the music stopped promptly at 11 p.m. (required by law/regulation). The hotel has a wonderful garden and breakfast room, where a fire was always burning in the morning and evening. The staff was very attentive and friendly, our rooms clean, and the bathrooms modern with plenty of hot water all day/evening. On the day we departed, a local woman dressed in traditional costume played a “Gu Zheng” (string-type) instrument in the garden while we had breakfast. It was a very charming and thoughtful touch provided by the Zen Garden hotel...
I stayed in Zen garden 2 Days, it's an excellent hotel, quiet, the Room and bathrooom are small but very clean and The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. We had tea and hot water provide in the room an Naxi cake provided when we arrived. There's a computer you can use in the lobby, they brought us tea when we were using the internet. If you don't have a room on the second floor then go up there at night and you'll have an amazing view of Lijiang at night! Fantastic. It's a real jewel. Iwould stay there again...
