Review of Shanghai Bund Hotel by Eileen

Shanghai Bund Hotel

The positive points about the hotel follows: close to the Pedestrian Shopping Street, about a 5 minute walk and hotel wait staff (chinese restaurant) was friendly. Here are the negative points: unfriendly/rude front desk staff, did not get requested room type, bathroom water smelled like sewer water, beds were hard, and room was small. When we arrived at 6pm, 2 employees were behind the front desk busy working on something. They did not acknowledge us (no one else was around). When we asked to be checked in, we felt like we were bothering them (they were not friendly at all). We booked a non-smoking deluxe suite, however, the hotel said that they did not have the non-smoking rooms available. Luckily, the hotel wasn\'t too busy and so our room didn\'t have a strong cigarette smell. The bathroom water, however, was aweful. It smelt like sewer water. The beds were hard but that is typical for most China Hotels that are 4 stars or less. Don\'t get me wrong, I do not think that this hotel is a 4 star hotel. It would be a 2 to 3 star hotel at best. I would not stay at this hotel again.
