Shanghai Midtown Hotel Service Apartment

The facilities were clean and the accomodation was what i picture it to be. The problem lies with the staff especially the reception desk who handled our check in during our arrival. She barely speaks English and since our reservation cannot be trace in their database, it took several hours before we can check in. We booked several months prior to our intended flight and the hotel through the website confirmed our reservation. The hotel gave our room reservation which left us without a room. After several hours of gesturing and some help from guests who understand some English we were able to check in with 2 rooms instead of a 3 bedroom apartment. We were able to transfer 2 days after to original reservation of 3 bedroom apartment. My suggestion is put someone in the reception who can speak English. With the Beijing Olympics coming up, i cannot fathom the problems to be encountered by tourist pouring in to China to check out the sites and sounds. Huge problems......"Lost in Translations"....is the theme of our stay.
