We booked the 1 day Mutianyu only tour in October 2015. As this part of the wall is abit remote and harder to get to - we decided to book a tour for the convenience that they will pick us up and return us back to the hotel. On the day of the tour- the (only?) coach bus broke down, and so we were picked up and packed like sardines into mini-vans while our tour guide was flustered in organising who goes in which van. the trip was an uncomfortable hour or two, and on top of that we ran late, and could not stay longer at the wall. We missed our taboggan ride because we had a lunch curfew with the rest of the group. Probably would avoid tours in the future due to the limitations.
