marvelous trip, high quality, friendly persons. Visit one of the big monuments of the world...
Our second trip to the Great Wall of China was well prepared and Edward as a guide met all our expectations and our thanks belongs to him...
My wife and I took the Mutianyu Great Wall tour on March 2017. I was very satisfied with the tour and the provider. Nancy our tour guide was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and warm. In our case, we felt a little in disadvantage due the fact that we don't speak Chinese. However, Nancy had everything under control. The tour bus picked us up at our hotel door, and we drove around downtown picking up other tourist. Later that morning, we did a stop and some people changed buses, to go to their specific tours. Make sure you remember the name of the places where you are going; you might end it up in a different portion of the wall. The weather was cold and a little snowing when we arrived to the wall, once we arrived to Mutianyu, we had around 2-3hrs to do the walk. The time goes quickly, so you have to walk fast if you want to get to the last tower. Keep in mind, there are lots, LOTS of steps, my knees where really hurting at the end of the walk, but it was totally worth it. So if you don’t exercise often, just go ready, maybe some ankles or knees protection. Once we ended the walk, we returned to the base, where we had dinner, local food which was included in the fair we paid, and sharing the dinner with people from different countries, made the cultural experience ever better. It is a long trip from Beijing to Mutianyu , we slept in the bus back to the hotel and they dropped us at our hotel door. It was our first time in Beijing and I really enjoyed it, and we felt save. I recommend the tour for families, children, seniors, or a group of friends. Definitely was worth it and the price was right. China could be complicated to move around, I suggest you pay for the tour, instead of taking buses or cabs. It will save you time, energy, and this will allow you to enjoy of your trip...

For this type of group tour, it surely takes a lot cooperation from all the group. We had a long time waiting for one group of 6, like a 30mins of waiting. They have no idea that they are holding up the whole bus of others. trip was smooth and the weather was great on that day. we took a cable up (paid seperately of course - 100cny) which took us to level 14. lunch was not to my taste - mainly vegetables and vegetables and the taste are all the same. (as a Chinese from Singapore) i am spoilt with the food that we have in SG! one thing i will have to thumbs up the guide that he has suggested that we take the subway on our return to our hotel, which is the best! he drop us off at the Dongzhimen station and i reach my hotel at in 10min instead of the jam! Great Idea!..
We had a difficult time contacting the company to verify our trip for the following morning - our email was intermittent, and our cell phone was not cooperating - we did EVENTUALLY receive an email confirmation - the evening AFTER our tour! We were assured that our tour guide would speak English - however, there was no comment that the bus driver, trying to pick us up for the tour, could speak any English. Fortunately, he had our name on a piece of paper and we were able to communicate that indeed, we were the ones listed on his paper. We were informed when we booked the tour that the driver would show up between 6:30 and 7:50 a.m. at our hotel. We still didn't know if the driver was going to actually pick us up, so we made ourselves available by 6:30 a.m. and we had given up hope at 7:55 a.m. and we were preparing to walk out the door and find something else to do, when the driver did finally show up. We were then driven across town to a bigger bus, loaded to capacity, and finally containing our English-speaking guide. The traffic was horrible, due to a Chinese holiday celebrating their ancestors. Because of our late pickup, and this solid traffic jam all the way to the Great Wall, we got there very late and had little time to walk the wall. We were even later as our guide was having some difficulties handing out our admission passes to the Wall, and to the Cable Car transport. This took another hour, I think. The Wall itself was impressive and wonderful, as expected! Our travel back to the hotels was horrible. We were informed that again there were traffic jams downtown, and the bus sat and waited for a bunch of the travelers to get tired of waiting, so they walked to train stations or hailed cabs. Some of us who had further to travel, stayed with the bus so they would take us back to were we were supposed to be dropped off. Our driver had a terrible time finding the location of the last couple of hotels, so the last group gave up and hailed taxis, or tried walking to their hotels. We stuck it out as it was now well after sunset, dark, and we had no idea of how to return to our hotel. The driver eventually called for directions a couple of times but was still crawling along, trying to see street signs. Oh, did I mention that the English-speaking tour guide had gotten off the bus an hour and a half ago, leaving us with no means of communication with the driver? I kept showing him the hotel's address, written in Chinese, to verify that we were still heading in the right direction. He would nod, but I was worried right up until we finally found our hotel at 9 p.m. Did I also mention that we were supposed to be back at our hotel by 6 or 7 p.m.? Oh yes, this was the "Non-shopping tour," but we still had to run through the shopping area, because they wouldn't let the bus go straight through, so this took another 30 minutes. We ended up spending less than an hour and a half at the Great Wall...
Our guide Roma is a very nice guy. We had intersting conversations and we enjoyed his company...

I would recommend this to anyone, the bus takes you directly to the wall. I went in January so there were plenty of seats on the bus and the wall was not busy at all! They pick you up right from your hotel room. I would use this company in the future if I return to China again. Garrett..
We had a wonderful tour to Mutianyu, and the tour bus & tour guide were excellent! They were very knowledgeable and came at exactly the time they promised. They ordered us an excellent lunch at noon as well...
Pick up and drop off was what was promised..Besides from that..Didn't get the free water as mentioned. My tour guide didn't even remember I was from his tour. He brought other people to the restaurant for lunch didn't call or find me and other tourist from the tour. When we finalize found our tour guide he asked which group we were from..Shocking..Besides from just having a ride to the destination we didn't really felt like they cared about anything else...
Terrible experience. I had just one day in China and decided to book the Mutianyu Great Wall tour. I received an email confirming the tour quickly after booking it. I received no phone call telling me the time the driver would show up in my hotel even though I sent an email asking for it. Not a problem, I researched on the webpage and found the driver usually goes to hotels between 6 AM to 8 AM. So I waited in my hotel from 6 AM to 7:30 AM and nobody showed up. I started to get worried and decided to call Chinatour. The person who picked the phone told me that the driver told them that he showed up in my hotel at 6:30 AM and didn't find anyone. She was very attentious and asked if I wanted to reschedule to the following day. But since I had just 1 day in China that was not an option. So either the driver was lying or he went to the wrong hotel. Thanks to this enormous incompetence I had to rush and find a private driver to take me to the wall for double the price. And if it weren't for him, I would have lost the opportunity to see the great wall. China tour: avoid at all costs!..
Wonderful visit to an unique, well preserved, highly scenic and not crowded area of the Great Wall. Easy optional / recommended ascent with chairlift and fun slide down if weather is not wet. Our guide Ana was PERFECT. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED VISIT AND GUIDE AAAAA+++++!...
