It made such a difference to have someone that spoke English describe the history of the Summer Palace and the Great Wall. It is obvious that you love what you do. Your personality along with your knowledge made this trip memorable. It was great to be picked up, driven around, taken to lunch, and dropped right at our door, without a care in the world. If I had to do it all over again, I would request you for my entire stay. After all, what good is it to visit the sites and not know what you're looking at. Thank you to your driver too, who always got out and ran around to open our door. I loved the way he was always wiping down his car. This is the 3rd trip I've booked using Chinatour - we took this tour to take my husband's mother to the Great Wall. We also visited the Summer Palace as we have not visited there before. As always the tour guide, Patrick this time, had very good English. He was entertaining and told history and stories of China and the area we were visiting. The company has always provided good tours and good guides. They verify the pick up time the night before the tour and are always timely. I will continue to use Chinatour...
I went on this tour with a colleague the first part of June and it was more than expected. It was mid week so we were the only two on the tour. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and funny. The places we visited where great. I would recommend the tour. We also included the acrobatic show which was also really good and worth booking as part of the tour...
I went to Beijing last June. Beijing is one of my most wanted place, bcoz it has rich royal history, and many nice places to be seen. in a short visit, i need to have Great Wall & Summer Place in 1 day. and Chinatour has it! it was cool! plus the charge is affordable! After trying to find a tour which i hope safe enough, i book chinatour (at almost at midnite) -- for picking me up at the following morning! and chinatour reply in about 15' (so it was around 12AM) .. and confirm me back! wow... Sarah, my tour guide, pick me up at hotel on time. i paid the tour by cash. then me and other tourists went to Great Wall, Jade Factory, Lunch, Summer Palace & Tea House. Came back to downtown right before traffic jam. Sarah was nice and having good English. Chinatour was a trusted one (i went alone, that's why it was important). So thank you... it was a nice experience!..
Hey everyone! I had a one day tour of Great wall and Summer palace... I have to say that I had an amazing time. First to start with booking of the tour. I was in constant correspondence with the tour company for weeks before I came to China. My time was limited, so it was very important for me to be picked up and dropped off after the tour. They let me choose what part of the wall I wanted to visit and if I was gonna see summer palace or any other place of my liking. I've read some complaints here on visiting the teahouse and silk factory, but I have to say that I had a wonderful time there, I bought some gifts for my family (which no one's making you do it) and learned new stuff about how silk is made or how tea should be drank in chinese traditional way... It was both educational and interesting for me. My tourguide was extremely patient and was waiting for me at the airport for a longer time even though I had no way of letting anyone know that I got stuck in the line at the airport. So I was almost an hour late, yet they were still waiting for me with a name-board. My tour was private, so we drove in a big car where I was able to leave all my belongings with driver, and tour guide (Kathy) was going with me mostly everywhere (even to the wall), and she was kind enough to take pictures of me every now and then, without me even asking her to. THat is really nice of her because now I have memories which I normaly wouldn't have because I don't like bothering people with taking my photos... We've climbed to the wall by cable-car and after spending almost 2 hours there (which was enough for me), we came down on a slide. That was super fun! :D After that I was taken to a restourant where I had a really good lunch. I couldn't eat it all so they packed me leftovers which I was able to eat for dinner later in the day... I was taken to the silk factory after that, then summer palace, then teahouse... All in all, it was a great day. I've seen everything I was planing to. There was no rushing or pressure. We made it everywhere on time despite the heavy trafic (it was a holiday the same day we had the tour). Kathy spoke really good english and she told me a lot of interesting things about Chinese history, as well as the places we visited. If you plan on doing any tour in Beijing, I recomend you ask for her as a guide. At the end of the tour I was dropped off at my hotel and all in all, it was a perfect day. Next time I go to China, I am planning to repeat similar tour, hopefully with the same guide. Money well spent. :D..
Tour guide Rosaline (Beibei) had call us 1 day before, and confirmed schdule to pick us up at 7.30 am from hotel. She was quite on time with a good car for our 4 persons team. The necessary info she had given us in different places continuously was really good, and well understood in English. We all agreed that was professional. Tour guide should be more attentive on what places/attractions they are committing to the travellers. The lunch was good, she arranged muslim food for us. we really enjoyed the beauty of summer palace and great wall. We think it is fair to give our feedback for future improvements. Overall we enjoyed the day very much specially semmer palace and the Great wall...
This was a very memorable trip. I've choosed the group tour. Although only my husband and I joined the tour, they still picked us up exactly on time at the hotel by luxury car. Our tour guide Emmene and our driver were very friendly .We went to Summer Palace First before went to the Jade factory. After we've had lunch we went to the Great Wall We went not to Badaling site because we've heard from our tour guide that at Badaling site was very crowded and the weather didn't well that time.( Juyongguan site). I'll definitely come back and recommend this website to my other friends and relatives. Thank you to find your website...
I really enjoyed this tour for the most part. Although the section of the Great Wall we visited was EXTREMELY crowded, it was still beautiful. The summer palace was also very grand and very beautiful. Lunch was good, very safe for those who don't necessarily have an iron stomach when it comes to travelling. The one thing I would have to complain about is that we went to the wrong location for the entrance to the gondola at the Great Wall in the morning, which consequently cut our time short there and made the rest of the day feel extremely rushed. I did not like almost running through the Summer Palace. Our tour guide Tony was very knowledgeable and spoke English very well though. All in all I would recommend this tour for people perhaps wanting to spend only a little time at each place, because for that it has very good value...
An exhilarating experience that broadens the mind by its many picturesque views. Measly pictures do not live up to the beauty and wonder of what you see with your own eyes. The great wall and the summer palace are both places you'd want to see before you die. Of course a great factor of enjoyment in a foreign land would be the assistance of a tour guide to describe to us the history of these spots and give us a review on its present conditions. Due to the aid of one very capable tour guide, we had very much enjoyed our stay in Beijing, eating at the best places and learning a history we had somewhat learned but forgotten from our high school textbooks. All in all, it was an unforgettable experience. Coupled with scenic spots and an amiable tour guide, our trip was filled with laughter and wonder; two of the things that make a real trip remembered...

This was a very memorable trip. The shuttle arrived exactly on time at the hotel. Everything was well coordinated. Our tour guide (Jenny) was excellent, and talked about many interesting facts related to the historical sights. She was also very considerate in accommodating our dietary requirements. Only thing negative I found was food quantity :(. Otherwise it was great experience. The vehicle quality was good, guide had good command on English and with friendly behavior. Also both the sites (Great Wall and Summer Palace are worth visiting especially for nature lovers)...

Everything worked out great, I was called the night before as planned and was colected at 8.30am. Although I had booked a group tour I had a private car and guide. They were excellent. We had to visit a pearl factory which was OK but I guess that is part of the deal. I also visited a tea ceremony where the girl was very pleasant. The Great Wall and the Summer Palace are both awesome, be ready for quite a climb at the wall...
It was okay, We visit the places in the chinese national holiday, so there were many many people.....so please never visit this great places under the chinese holidays ;O) the guide spoke very good english and had a great knowledge. but because there were so many people the traffic was bad and it took long time to come to the great wall, and it was terrible crowded every where. If there not have been so many people I am sure it would have been a good trip, but because of the many people it only was OK!..
