From Xi'an North Station, take the high-speed train to Luoyang Longmen Station
Xi'an & Luoyang(洛阳) are China's most famous cities during Chinese Middle Ages. The two cities are 360 kilometers apart. but nowaday, it only takes 1 hour and 20 minutes by high-speed rail.
The confirmation email of your tour will include an e-ticket code that starts with the letter E. Please make sure you hold this code on the depart day and take your paper ticket with this code & your passport at the departure train station.
Pay attention : You need to go to Xi'an North Railway Station by yourself. Xi'an Metro Line 2 is the best way to get to Xi'an North Station

Longmen Grottoes
Visit Longmen Grottoes
You will reach Luoyang Longmen Station at about 9 am, our driver will pick you up there.
You will be chauffered to Longmen Grottoes and visit this outstanding manifestation of human artistic creativity with English-speaking Guide. Longmen means Dragon's Gate, these caves are some of the finest examples of Chinese Buddhist art. Housing tens of thousands of statues of Buddha and his disciples, they are located 12 kilometres south of Luoyang.
In 2000 the site was inscribed upon the UNESCO World Heritage List for its perfection of an art form, and for its encapsulation of the cultural sophistication of Tang China.
At noon we will offer you a Chinese Lunch at a selected local restaurant.
Go to Songshan Shaolin Temple in the afternoon
The drive to Shaolin Temple will take 1.5 hours and you can rest for a while in the car.
Shaolin Temple is a Zen Buddhist temple in Dengfeng County. Believed to have been founded in the fifth century, the Shaolin Monastery and its Pagoda Forest were inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2010 as part of the "Historic Monuments of Dengfeng". There were many schools of kungfu in China ,but the history of each school could be traced back to Shaolin Temple, so this place was considered as the Holy land of Chinese kung fu.
The process of visiting the Shaolin Temple will last about 3 hours, after which you will be returned to Luoyang Longmen Station by private car, and you will board the bullet train back to Xi'an at around 8pm.

Excellent guide and a great day out, well worth the journey from London , UK. We had never heard of the Longmen Grotto and were really surprised at the impressive construction. The Shaolin temple was as also superb, shame it rained all day. We travelled by train from Xian in business class, fantastic trains. more..
