First of all we never went to the Mutianyu section of the wall because our guide thought it would be too busy. We went somewhere else. The guide was right, it was not busy ( at first). I enjoyed the visit to wherever we were on the wall but it was difficult walking. Very steep, very irregular steps to climb. Hard work but I loved the beautiful vistas. Eventually it got extremely busy but by then we were almost done. I did go to Mutianyu another day and found it much easier to navigate and it was not busy at all. The views here are spectacular, too.
The visit to the tombs was disappointing because I did not realize all but one of the tombs were underground.
We had a slight view of the roofs of Olympic venues as we sped by in the van. Very disappointing to not have been able to stop.
The visits to the jade shop and tea shop were a surprise as they were not mentioned in the itinerary. I was not interested at all in these stops.
Our guide was friendly and his English was quite good, lunch was okay and overall a fairly good day.
