Day 1 Shanghai Arrival by your own flight
Upon arrival at Shanghai, be met at the Shanghai airport and transferred to your hotel by a private comfortable vehicle. Free at leisure for the rest of the day.
Day 2 Shanghai (Breakfast, Lunch)
Pick up from hotel in the morning. Take a full day to explore the city. First you will visit Yu Garden, which is the architectural style of the Ming Dynasty and it used to be a private garden with 400 years' history. In front of the garden, there is a market called Yuyuan Bazaar,where you can have a taste of local sancks and explore traditional Chinese handcrafts and art works. Then proceed to Jade Buddha Temple, the former foreign settlement, ranged along with imposing buildings of the colonial period. Then you will visit the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, standing by the Huangpu River with 468 meters high, OrIental Pearl TV Tower is the highest TV Tower in Asia. Walk around the famous Bund which is the former foreign settlement, ranged along with imposing buildings of the colonial period. You will also take a troll along the Nanjing Road, the most famous shopping street in Shanghai.
In the evening, take a flight to Zhangjiajie. Upon your arrival at Zhangjiajie, you will be transferred to your hotel.
Day 3 Zhangjiajie (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Pick you up from your hotel lobby in the morning. Drive forward to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. Visit Huangshi (Yellow Lion) Village, which rises 1,080 meters above the sea level. In fact, it is a vast platform, consisting of tremendous steep cliffs, covering an area of 16.5 hectares. There is a famous saying "He who does not reach the Huangshi Village does not pay a true visit to Zhangjiajie.” Take cable cars to go up and down the village. A trail is also waiting for you to hike about five hours. Then walk along the Golden Whip Brook, which is about 7.5 kilometers (4.7 miles) long and is known for its pristine waters, steep cliffs and green mountains. Back to your hotel after the tour.
Day 4 Zhangjiajie (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
Pick you up from your hotel lobby and head for Tianzi Mountain Cable Car Station. Take a cable car up to the mountain, and in the meantime you can enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Then walk along the mountain path to enjoy the scenery and the tour guide will give you more information about the attractions. Waterfalls, bridges, stone forests and caves are found throughout the mountains. Tianzi Mountain is known for 4 natural spectacles – the clouds of mist that circle the peaks of the mountain, the amazing views of the rising sun, the moonlit nights and snowcapped winter peaks.
Then take a shuttle bus to Yuanjiajie Scenic Area, the core of Wulingyuan World Heritage, which is a mysterious, magic and primitive place. Here you will see the First Bridge, which is a natural bridge connecting two mountains together. Most of all, you will see the Hallelujah Mountain(Qiankun Column), the prototype of the floating Hallelujah Mountain in the Hollywood blockbuster Avatar. When clouds and mists rise, you may feel like standing in a fairyland. Go down the mountain by Bailong Elevator (Hundred Dragons Elevator). It is claimed to be the highest outdoor elevator with the largest carrying capacity in the world and is recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records.
Then take a shuttle bus to the exit and the driver will transfer you to the hotel.
Day 5 Zhangjiajie (Breakfast, Lunch)
Pick you up in the morning from your hotel lobby in Wulingyuan. Head for Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon Scenic Area, which is famous for its world's highest and longest glass bridge. It takes about 30 minutes from Wulingyuan or 1.5 hours from the downtown to get to the Grand Canyon.
Stretches 430 meters over a 300-meter-deep valley between two cliffs in the stunning Zhangjiajie Park, the 6-meter-wide glass bridge will take your breath away. Standing on the Zhangjiajie glass bridge all paved with transparent glass, you will get to see a view down through the bridge in the middle of the canyon. Stressful and frightened as you might feel, aeronautical material used for building the bridge is quite solid.
Drive to Yellow Dragon Cave(Huanglong Cave). It is 7.5 km long and has a vertical rise of 140 meters. There are six major scenic spots in the cave, including Dragon Dancing Hall, Maze, Sounding River, Immortal Waterfall, and Heaven Pillar Street. It is rare to see thousands of stalagmites and stalactites in the karsts cave like this at home and broad. And geology experts draw the similar conclusion that Yellow Dragon Cave is the all round champion.
After the tour, transfer you to the airport for your flight to Xian. Upon your arrival at Xian, you will be transferred to your hotel.
During the low season, there may be no direct flights between Zhangjiajie and Xian. So the itinerary may be modified accordingly. Please inquire our tour operator.
Day 6 Xian (Breakfast, Lunch)
You will spend the whole morning visiting the City Wall and the Shaanxi History Museum. The City Wall is the fortification of Xian city, built in the Ming Dynasty, a real ancient ruin. Having fun on the City Wall is very easy. Just hire a bike, ride around the old city wall and laugh all the way and return the bike until you get exhausted.
An a la carte lunch (valued at CNY120.00 per person and included in our price) will be served at a very famous local restaurant.
After winding around several alleys, we will lead you to the Great Mosque. It has a beautiful architecture with a very Chinese appearance, unlike other mosques. The highlight afterwards is coming out the mosque and wandering around the market. There are a lot of interesting knickknacks and traditional local snacks for you to sample. Then our guide and driver will escort you to the airport and help you board the flight to Zhangjiajie. On arrival, you will be greeted and taken to the hotel.
Day 7 Xian (Breakfast, Lunch)
Today, we will first visit the Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses, which is one of the greatest archaeological discoveries in the twentieth centuries. The warriors are just like real persons with different actions and expressions. There are three excavated pits exhibiting amazing Qin Dynasty warriors and horses figures. It seems that each of the warriors are created with a prototype in real life. Then go to the Bell Tower, the emblem of Xi'an city and the Big Wild Goose Pagoda afterwards. The pagoda is widely renowned that Master Xuanzang (Monk Tripitaka) stored his classics brought from India.
After the tour, transfer you to the airport for your flight to Beijing. Upon your arrival at Beijing, you will be transferred to your hotel.
Day 8 Beijing (Breakfast, Lunch)
Your first stop will be Tian'anmen Square. The majestic surrounding buildings, such as the Monument to the People's Heroes, the Great Hall of the People, the Museum of the Chinese Revolution, along with Tian'anmen Gate which was built in the Ming Dynasty constitute this majestic square; a spectacular city site. Next we will take you to explore the marvelous Forbidden City. Located in the city center, it is an excellent and unique masterpiece of ancient architecture that shows the wisdom and technical ingenuity of the ancient people.
After the morning excursion, we will transfer you to a popular local restaurant for an a la carte lunch where you will be able to order dishes at your own wish.
Then extend your journey to the Temple of Heaven, which is the largest existing imperial altar in China. As well as enjoying the splendid architecture, you will also find local residents singing, dancing and reading in the park, which will offer you an opportunity to observe the ordinary people's life here. In the evening, a fabulous Chinese Kung Fu Performance will be arranged for you to round off the whole day's visit.
Day 9 Beijing (Breakfast, Lunch)
The highlight of the today's tour is the Mutianyu Great Wall. Today you will have a chance to witness, in person, this extraordinary project in human history afer a short visit to a jade factory. Standing on the wall and appreciating its snaking path along the mountain ridges will certainly bring you unique feelings.
Have lunch at the nearby restaurant.
After that, continue your trip to visit the largest and most beautiful Chinese imperial garden- Summer Palace. It is the largest and best-preserved royal garden in China. It is a blend of natural scenery and artificial landscape. The mountains, waters and architecture together form picturesque scenes that are amazingly beautiful. UNESCO declared the Summer Palace “a masterpiece of Chinese landscape garden design". On the way back to the city, we will pass the Bird's Nest Stadium and you will have a short stop nearby to take some photos.
Day 10 Beijing Departure (Breakfast)
Today we will pick you up from your hotel at appointted time and transfer you to the airport for your flight to your next destination.
