Day 1 Shanghai-Beijing by morning bullet train
Pick you up from your hotel around 5:00am, so maybe you cannot enjoy the breakfast, and please prepare some food in advance, and then take the train G106 7:12-13:13 with second class seat to Beijing.
Upon your arrival, the Beijing local guide will wait for your arrival and take you to the restaurant for lunch firstly, then visit Summer Palace in the afternoon. After the tour, send you to the hotel for rest.
☆ Summer Palace is the largest and best-preserved royal garden in China. The mountains, waters and architecture together form picturesque scenes that are amazingly beautiful. UNESCO declared the Summer Palace “a masterpiece of Chinese landscape garden design".
Scenic spots: East palace gate, the hall of benevolence and longevity, hall of jade billows, the hall of joyful longevity, the covered walkway, the marble boat, etc.
Day 2 Beijing downtown (Breakfast + lunch)
Enjoy your breakfast, and then the guide will pick you up from the hotel around 7:30-8:00am, and you will visit Tian'anmen Square and Forbidden City, which are located in the center of the city.
After lunch, you will visit Beijing Hutong at Shichahai Scenic Area, where you will visit the Beijing old lanes by rickshaws and explore traditional Chinese quadrangles to get to know local life.
Then you will visit Temple of Heaven.
In the evening, you will enjoy one of the evening shows, Peking Opera Show, Acrobatic Show or Kongfu Show. Choose what you are interested in.
☆ The Forbidden City was built 600 years ago and has played an important role in Chinese history. It was the imperial palace of Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty from Emperor Yongle. This palace is an example of ancient Chinese architecture.
Scenic spots: 1. The hall and the courtyard of supreme harmony, 2. The meridian gate, 3. the hall of supreme harmony, 4. the hall of complete harmony, 5. the hall of preserving harmony, 6. the huge of stone carving, 7. the hall of union, 8. the palace of earthly tranquility, 9. the imperial garden, etc.
☆ The Tian’anmen Square was once the largest city square in the world. Its name literally means “Gate of Heavenly Peace”. The square witnessed the foundation of the People’s Republic of China and several important events in Chinese history.
☆ Temple of Heaven is a complex of religious buildings where the emperors came every winter solstice to worship heaven and to solemnly pray for a good harvest. Built about 600 years ago, it is the most holy imperial temple in Beijing.
Scenic spots: the hall of prayer for good harvest, the imperial vault of heaven, echo wall, the circular mound altar, etc.
Day 3 The Great Wall and Ming Tomb (breakfast + lunch)
Pick up from your hotel after your breakfast around 8:00am, and then drive to Mutianyu or Badaling Great Wall, which takes about 1.5h to get there. Cable car optional.
After lunch, you will visit Dingling Tomb and the Sacred Road. On the way back to the downtown, you will have a short exterior visit of the Olympic Stadiums-Bird's Nest and Water Cube. If you want to go inside, you have to buy the tickets.
Optional: Quanjude Peking Duck Dinner (Cost: CNY 330 / USD $53 per person).
☆ Great Wall is one of the most magnificent sections of the Great Wall. Since the Great Wall has become a national icon of China, whoever come to China would visit it. It is one of the greatest man-made wonders over the world. It was built as an ancient military defense project which was actually worked in the history.
Scenic spots: Badaling fortress, beacon-towers, "looking-toward Beijing stone", etc.
(You can choose Badaling or Mutianyu Great Wall according to your preference. No extra fees. )
☆ Dingling Tomb is the only tomb of the thirteen Ming Tombs to be excavated. Buried here are three individuals; Emperor Wan-li (died 1620), Empress Wang (died 1620), and another Empress Wang (died 1611).
☆ The Sacred Road: The road is guarded on both sides with stone statues by which the ancient emperors went to hold a memorial ceremony for the ancestors.
Day 4 Departure from Beijing by your own flight or train (breakfast)
Today, you will experience your own way to the airport or train station, so if you are not familiar with the traffic about public vehicle, you can get the help from us or our guide in advance, and it is very convenience to take the subway or shuttle bus to the airport or train station now.
