The hotel location is good within walking distance to the Bund, Nanjing Rd and Huihai Rd and we were able to take the public buses to Cheng Huang Miao from Huihai Rd...just two bus stop away. The room area for single is not so spacious but its okay. Overall we had quite a good stay experience...

This was the third time that I return to stay in this hotel every fall. I felt so at home with the hotel location and staffs. Room is always clean and tidy, but I saw a small bug walking in the washroom and out to the room twice on the last day. The receptionist said it's going to be renovated later this year. The building is old but has very good structure. It needs some careful renovation to bring out its glorious day that has been abandoned for many years. I hope they won't increase the room rate after renovation. It's a great hotel, great location and wonderful housekeepers and staffs..

This is a no frills hotel. The rooms are reasonably spacious and clean. What I like most about this place is the location. For such a good location, (within walking distance to the Bund, Nanjing Road, HuaiHai etc.) the room rate is a steal in Shanghai. The only drawback is the occasional noise made by the fridge hidden under the TV. The staff is friendly and helpful. For those who are unable to speak Chinese, the taxi driver might have a little trouble finding this place coz Tibet Road is a long stretch. Tip : Tell the taxi driver that it's near the Da Shi Jie (direct translation means, "Big World"). Tibet South Road is called Xi Zhang Nun Lu...

Excellent location. Roms are very clean and spacious. Our room was in the back therefore very quiet. Staff very curtious and helpful. Can only recommend this hotel especially for their rate and location...

Very nice place to stay, good location! The staff is helpful, but noisy in the morning. I'll recommend this hotel!..

The hotel location is perfect. However, you may ask (i did) for a room at the backside of the building if you are sensitive to traffic noise. The rooms are clean and surprisingly spacy. The attends are effcient and friendly. The customer service desk is very helpful and they are always open for a deal. The 25 RMB breakfast in the topfloor restaurant is also OK, whereas the dinner menu is a bit below average. What you see (on the menu) is not always what you get (it looks different and the dishes i picked where served cold !?). Anyway, i recommend this place for its price/performance, its excellent service and its superb location...

Handy central location hence the high price for an 80 y.o hotel. Rooms were clean but as expected smelt a little old or musty. Staff were very efficient but unfortunately language barrier ruined my stay. A chinese friend tried to contact me only to be told they did not have a guest registered under my name. Not sure how they had my name entered in computer, but the confusion meant I had no contact with intended interpreter. Staff spoke very little english, same problem as everybody els in Shanghai. The mention of Australia or even Tibet in english drew blank looks. And the hotel is in Tibet road. Language barrier was a huge problem, but as this is the norm for Shanghai, this would not prevent me from staying there again...

Very good location. Few minutes walking to the bund and very close to the subway. Rooms was pretty big and clean. Moreover, staff was very helpful. I recommend this hotel for those who will stay very closed to the center attraction...

Very pleased with hotel, good room and room service. It has a good restaurant and the location also has many good small restaurants in the area. Good shopping in easy reach by cheap (14Y) taxi. Musium across the park opposite. River bank was also easily reached by (20Y) taxi. Very enjoyable stay and we will be back another year to stay at this hotel. The only complaint was the cost of the Internet connection at 0.5Y per minute...

The hotel is very centrally located, very near many attractions. The rooms are very cozy, peaceful and clean. The hotel rate is also moderate and affordable. We stayed at room 411 and 412. We look forward to coming to stay in this hotel in one of our future visits to Shanghai...
