16 Days Tour to Tibet Mt. Kailash Adventure

Day 1: Arrive in Lhasa. (L, D)
The guide will meet you at Konggar Airport or train station, and transfer you to Lhasa city. On the way, you'll get greeted by Nie Tang Budda,  a Budda image engraved in the mountain face. After arrive in Lhasa, rest and acclimatize overnight in Lhasa.

Day 2: Lhasa city sightseeing. (B, L, D)
Full day city tour of Potala Palace,  Jokhang Temple, and Barkhor Street. Overnight in Lhasa
- The Potala Palace: The most imposing attraction in Lhasa. One of architectural wonders of the world contains 13 storeys tall and thousands of rooms.We kindly suggest you take taxi to the top of the palace which costs about 10 and then walk down after your visiting.
- The Jokhang Temple: It is 1300 years old and is one of Tibet's holiest shrines. It was built to commemorate the marriage of the the Tang princess Wencheng to King Songtsen Gampo, and houses a pure gold statue of the Buddha Sakyamuni brought to Tibet by the princess.
- Barkhor Street: It is essentially a pilgrim circuit that proceeds clockwise around the periphery of the Jokhang Temple. It is also a hive of market activity, an astounding pilgrim jamboree, and a wonderful introduction to Tibet.

Day 3 Lhasa city sightseeing. (B, L, D)
Full day trip to Drepung Monastery,Sera Monastery, Norbulingka, The Carpet Factory.
-Drepung Monastery: Drepung Monastery lies in west of Lhasa under Mt. Gambo Utse, clustered round by the black mountain, its white grand buildings shining under the sunlight. Built in 1416, it is considered as one of the largest monasteries in the six principle monasteries of Gelu Sect in China. Drepung Monastery used to be the living palace of Dalai Lamas before the reconstruction of Potala palace(after the 5th Dalai Lamas was bestowed by Qing emperor Qianlong).
-Sera Monastery: It is known as one of the three greatest monasteries of Tibet. As one of the three main monasteries of Lhasa, it is here that the monks"famous daily debates"take place.
-Norbulingka: Norbulingka means "Jeweled Garden". It was constructed as a summer palace for the Dalai Lama and later served the whole governmental administration.
-The Carpet Factory: The highland of Tibet is the actual home of the oriental carpets. By visiting Carpet Factory you will have a general idea how carpets are produced.

Day 4 Lhasa/ Shigatse, sightseeing Yomdrok Lake and Tashilunpo Kloster(B, L, D)
After visiting Lhasa, we will drive to Shigatse. Full day trip to Yomdrok Lake, Tashilunpo Kloster.
-Yomdrok Lake: Within Langkamu county, with an area of 638 square km and a coastal line of 250 km.It lies within the boundary of Nankartse county, on the north bank of the Yarlung Tsangpo River, Lhokha Prefecture, surrounded by mountains.Beautiful Holy lake which everybody is looking forward to.
-Tashilunpo Monastery: Painted in red and white, the buildings in the kloster stand closely together in terraced rows, offering a grand and majestic view.Tashilunpo Kloster represents the Tibetan super architecture art in the Last Tibetan spirit. The Kloster attracts thousands of Buddhists and tourists from domestic and abroad to travel and worship every year.

Day 5  Shigatse/ Sakya/ Lhatse, (B L D)
After sightseeing of shigatse city. we will drive to visit Sakya Monastery, which is the main monastery of Sakyapa sect. Hike around the monastery northern ruins and drive back to Lhatse. Overnight at Lhatse.

Day 6 Lhatse / Saga, (B L D)
Today drive from Lhatse to Saga, pass several high plateau lakes, towns, herders tents and along the route with plateau mountain ranges, you can overlook diverse forms of mountains through the valley. Overnight at Saga.

Day 7 Saga / Paryang, (B L D)
Taking another 297km drive from Saga to Paryang, you weave your way through small dusty town of Zhongba amidst enchanting panoramic views, dotted nomads tents are mingled with their herds of animals on the open plateau. Overnight at Paryang.

Day 8 Paryang / Manasarovar Lake (B L D)
Today's main trip is to visit Manasarovar Lake. Overnight at Chiu Monastery village guesthouse.
--Manasarova Lake-A Holy Lake, he Buddhists believe that the lake is the bestowal from the heaven. The holy water can cure all kinds of diseases, wash people clean and get rid of people's worries. After walking around the lake and taking baths at the Four Bathing Gates, the pilgrims can be free from sins and be bestowed happiness.The great monk Xuan Zhuang praised it "the Holy Lake in the West Heaven".

Day 9 Manasarovar Lake / Darchen (B L D)
This morning we will head for Darchen, Darchen village is the starting and ending point of the Mt.kailash trekking, in the afternoon prepare for the trekking and guide will arrange needed yaks and porters. Overnight at Darchen.

Day 10 Trek from Darchen to Dira-puk Monastery, (20km, 6hrs trekking)
the first day's trekking is start from the Sershong and a gradual walk with multitudes of other local pilgrims chanting and praying. From the valley you can see the Choku Monastery up on the hillside. The trail leads to few ups and downs till we reach our camp at Dirapuk (4,750 m). You will meet many more Bon pilgrims going in the opposite direction (Anticlock-wise), because Mt. Kailash is being worshipped by four different religions, viz Buddhisms, Bons, Hindus and Jains. Camping on the nice grassy meadows with a view of Kailash, north west face at Dirapuk for overnight halt. Overnight at Dirapuk guesthouse.

Day 11 Trek from Dira-puk Monastery to Dzutul-puk Monastery by crossing Drolma-la Pass, (15KM, 6-7hrs trekking)
today our trekking leads to much higher side of the holy path just beneath the Mount Kailash. The walk will bring us to one of the highest point at Drolma La(5200m), and the pass is quickly descending to the gradual field towards Dzutul-puk for the overnight camp, Dzutul Puk in Tibetan and which means magical cave, this small monastery is connected to an interesting story of talent competition between Great Yogi Milarepa(Buddhist) and Naropa(Bon). Overnight at Dzutul-Puk guesthouse.

Day 12 Trek back to Darchen (14Km, 4-5hrs trekking)
The winding gradually comes out of the valley and follow the river you will arrive at the Barka plain, the trekking stops at Trangser Trangmar and your car will take you back to Darchen. Overnight at Darchen(Guest house, dorm bed).

Day 13 Darchen / Paryang / Saga
Today drive back to Saga retracing the same route, you will have a last view of the Mt.Kailash on the way. Overnight at Saga.

Day 14 Saga / Shigatse
Today start drive back to Lhatse. After such a long time drive, you will have a good rest at Lhatse. Overnight at Shigatse.

Day 15 Shigatse / Lhasa
Morning start driving back to Lhasa from Lhatse or Shigatse via northern friendship highway, driving along Yarlutsangpo river and enjoys its beautiful sceneries. Overnight at Lhasa .

Day 16 Lhasa airport/ train station dropping off (B).
Morning Lhasa airport or train station dropping off, the time come to say your farewells to your guide and driver, end the trip.

it,s fantastic. This year 2015 We(Me&my wife) are going to Kailash. But I want to start this tour from Lahsa in china and finish Nepal border to Kathmandu in Nepal. If possible, pls show me detail & cost. I can start from May anytime.  more..
