We booked tickets Beijing - Xi'an for mid October 2018 via this internet site. Everything went perfect. The site gives a clear overview of all the possible times and the duration of the trip. Also the departure and arrival trainstations are clearly indicated. We booked the trains and we got the voucher as promised. The vouchers are in Chinese, so we could not check whether it is was correct. In Beijing 2 days before the trip we went to the railway station and after asking we went to counter 17. There was no English text, so we had no idea if this was correct. We gave the vouchers to the person behind the counter, he entered something in a computer and we got our tickets, with the correct date, time etc. So perfect!!..
Straight-forward booking process. Despite not getting to choose my seat I was assigned good ones. Directions for retrieving my ticket were useful but in large train stations there could be more instructions given. For example, in Beijing I was dropped off my taxi on the second floor. I asked someone for help and was told to go to the first floor. I did, but from there I had no idea where to go. There were plenty of entrances but none of them seemed to be for me. I kept asking people for help and showing them the "please print my ticket" sign, and eventually found my way to an information desk with an English-speaking employee and from there it was totally fine...
It was very easy to buy tickets online for China and for any uncertainty their customer services team is very quick and responsive, the only thing which I think they should be added is to give the tickets online also as otherwise you have to spend a lot of time in queue and after then you've been told to go to other counter there you'll collect your tickets I mean to say you have to make some setup so the person taking the service from your website will face no hassle As you all know that language is a big barrier in China..
