How to Get to Forbidden City?
You can take a taxi to Donghuamen(East gate of forbidden city), or Subway Line 1(Get off at Tian'anmen Square station) , then walk to the South Gate of Forbidden City.If you would like a guided tour, we recommend you to book Half day Forbidden City guided tour or 1 Day tour to Forbidden city, Temple of Heaven, Summer Palace.
What to Expect in the Forbidden City?In the central heart of Beijing, the Forbidden City (Imperial Palace) remained the residence of the emperors for nearly five hundred years, from the 15th century to the early 20th century, and was the actual and symbolic seat of imperial power. Popularly known as the Forbidden City, it was built in the Ming Dynasty between the 4th and the 18th years of the Yongle period (1406 – 1420 AD). Many of the buildings of the Palace have been repaired and rebuilt, but their basic style and layout remain in their original state.

How to Buy Ticket On-site at Ticket Office in the South Gate of Forbidden City?
Ticket Office is at the west south of the south gate. Facing the south gate of forbidden city, the ticket office is at the left(rear) side buildings with red umbrellas, you should wait in line at windows No.3-No.7, normally need 10-15 minutes. Click "Book Now" to book your ticket now.
