Really all excellent, i have spent a nice day, organization was very good, our guide was excellent in english. Really all perfect!...
The trip was very exciting. We saw not only The wall and Ming tombs but also Nefrit factory, Silk museum and Tea ceremony show...and had a delicious lunch. I am very delighted with this excursion. Our guide was very competent and dedicated...
Great tour. The tour guide was very nice & did her best to keep everyone happy. There was a lot of traffic on the way to Great Wall & most of us would have preferred to go to nearer location on the great wall, but one visitor had a bad leg & wanted to go to the location where there is a tram (the promised location). The guide honored his wishes. This was an example that the company will deliver what it promised. Because we were very late, I wish the Tea House visit was cancelled..
Hi, we booked the tour at the last minute and chose it as it said \'only English speaking\' tourists will be joining us. We had a fantastic time on the tour but the tour guide Emma although spoke very good English, was not very knowledgable. She did not voluntarily give out many details. The fun part was the company of 2 Malaysian doctors who were in Beijing for a few days, like us. The tea rooms were really good as we learnt a lot about the tea etiquette Overall, it was fun as we made it to be so but the trip was short of information and Emma did not make any effort to accomodate our needs. But it was value for money. Kadu Shah..
I like the small bus tours because I always meet people from all over the world. There were 13 people on this tour. Because of the crowded China National holiday, Our tour guide managed to talk everyone into going to Juyongguan instead of Badaling. He said that we\'d have more time and that the bus can bring you within a 3 minute walk onto the wall where at Badaling you had to take a coaster or tram to get up onto the wall. I\'ve been to Badaling before and it\'s true that you must take a coaster-type ride up to the wall and it is much more crowded with tourists, but what the guide failed to mention was that at Juyongguan, once you get onto the wall, the climb is almost straight up! There are points where the incline is 80 degrees! At Badaling and at Mutianyu, you are able to stroll along the wall contemplating the building of it and all the people who lost their lives doing so. You can look out into the mountains and enjoy the beautiful scenery. This is what I was looking for. Of course, you can also hike to many different towers spread across several mountain peaks. At Juyongguan, the climb is so strenuous, it was not enjoyable to me. If you are looking for a place to climb and you want a personal challenge, Juyongguan is the place for you. If not, I would suggest Mutianyu. It is less crowded, there is a gondola or a ski lift that can bring you to the top and back down if you prefer. The other, really fun option to get down is a self-driven toboggan...
This private tour is excellent value. My tour guide Jenny spoke really good english and wealth of information. I really enjoyed the day with Jenny and the driver. The Ming Tombs/Great Wall was the highlight of my Bejing trip...
This was the second time we did this tour, but this time accompanied by friends. The tour is very good. A well prepared guide told us much about China, its people, culture, history and of course about the sights we visited. I would rate this tour 5 out of 5. It is exceptional good value for the money spent...
Everything good has been written. And I totally agree with majority of the comments and observations. I would like to mention a few suggestions that may significantly improve the service. Collecting tourists from each hotel took a lot of time. It was about 9am when the coach hit the expressway. Thus, the tour group was herded first to the Ming tombs where we had ample time, then went to a Jade museum for a quick tour and a very decent lunch. According to the tour guide, we had to visit the Ming tombs first in order to avoid the mid day rush at the Great Wall. Therefore, when we arrived at the main attraction, Great Wall, we had 2 hours to savor the magnificent view. We rushed back in order to avoid the traffic and be brought to a tea shop. Maybe, the tour operator should address these concerns to further make this tour memorable...
This is a great tour and we really enjoy it. June and Lillian from Washington DC, USA..
The 1 day tour to the Great Wall and Ming Tombs was fantastic overall. It was perfect for our party of 16 to be picked up at our hotel in Beijing and dropped off again in the evening, and we even had a 35-seater bus to ourselves. Our guide Li Mu was very knowledgable, and certainly gave Lonely Planet a run for it's money. The bonus of the jade factory tour and full Chinese lunch in the restaurant there went down a storm in our group, and gave the tour even more value for so little money! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this tour to anyone - it certainly was a great way to cap off our time in Beijing at the end of a month-long expedition in Mongolia...
I booked this trip on line and was a little unsure about how things would go. Dont worry, this is a very professional company that kept in touch all the time. Our tour guide was Ha Ha and what a great tour guide she was. Spoke english well and knew all the history of the places we visited and all questions asked. We had Ha Ha for another tour as well and I have nothing but praise of her proffesional persona. As we are both over 60 years old, we found the great wall very challenging but still enjoyed the beaty and histry of Beijing. Two Kiwis...Val Forward..
We booked our tour online quickly and easily. The night before we had our trip scheduled we recieved a call to confirm. Despite bad weather in the morning, we were greated with an enthusiastic and friendly tour guide. It poured rain throughout the morning as we went through the Ming Tombs and also throughout the time we spent inside the Jade Factory. By the time we departed for the great wall the sky was clearing up, storms in China often come and go fast! Badaling Great Wall is the most popular attraction on the great wall so no matter the time date or weather it will be busy! We had two hours to spend on the wall, which may sound short but depending on where you choose to walk, it can be exhasuting, and this is coming from two 20 year olds. Altoghether for a very resonable price we got to go to four interesting places, enjoy a lunch and also travel with a group of people from all around the world. Our tour had people from Indonesia, South Africa, Canada and Malta. Finally Jerry our tour guide did a fantastic job and help made the trip a success!..
Generally speaking the tour was ok, but: 1. The bus today was full, not for 6-10 people, Our trip were booking for 21 people. 2. Too short time was for sightseeeing Great Wall (only 2 hours was provided but after bargaining with guide tour 2.5 hours we spend them). 3. Too many time for shopping (manufacture of jade, tee shop). The lunch was good...
It is a good tour.they completed the itinery on time as promised. our guide tony was nice and spoke good english...
Excellent trip - a very dedicated tour guide - spoke really good english - were very friendly - did know a lot about history - very well organized. Trip included a few good supprises - we had a great day!..
We did 4 things that day. First, Ming Tombs. I enjoy what i\'ve seen but i was expecting more like seeing the tomb. I was disappointed when i understood that i won\'t see inside the tomb. We saw what they call Ming tomb, which is actually a sort of temple or memorial. It was pretty, and with the Guide i learned a lot of things, but still i\'m disappointed cause i didn\'t see the inside of the emperor tomb. Then we visited a jade factory which was good and then we had an excellent lunch in a beautiful place. In the afternoon, we\'ve been to Badaling Great Wall. It was great ! The only bad point is that our guide didn\'t let us the choice to go on the top or just walk from the start of the entry. There is a part where there is the cable car which goes to the top (from this place you can\'t climb or see at all the wall), but 500 meters after (and we saw it when we left) that there is another entry where you can climb the wall by foot. He didn\'t lie when he said we don\'t have the time to walk from the beginning to reach the top (3hours of walk to the top) but still we didn\'t have the choice and we all paid 80 yuan to the cable car. Then we finished our afternoon where we can taste different tea in the vip room and then bought theses teas of really good quality. It was another good experience. To conclude, the tour is good (we see and learn a lot) but it could be a lot more great and fun with more time on the great wall and in seeing inside of the tomb. And the guide was fine except for what he did on the great wall...
Amazing day! Well worth the price! The tour guides were knowledgable and spoke perfect English. Would recommend a slightly quieter part of the Great Wall as the really 'touristy' part is very busy...
I always had fast answers from ChinaTour.net. ChinaTour.net is very professional and they do exactly what they propose to do (they pick you up on time and all the schedulles were completed). The problems is that this is a big tour to make just in 1 day. So, I stayed less time that I would like to stay in Great Wall and on Ming Tombs (mainly on Great Wall). We spent some time on specific souvenir stores and Tea Restaurant, I suggest more free time for the custumers on the sightseeings...
the tour was very nice, they picked us at 7,40 at our hotel and we went directly to the tombs. it was a very interesting experience, most of all for the great wall. the guide was funny and prepared and involved us in the history of the place. the two visits to the giade museum and tea house were without great pressure so we bought some souvenirs with very pleasure. finally in my opinio this experience is really cheaper than its real value!!!..
The tour was excellent for so many reasons. My wife and I booked the tour in Singapore in the evening at this scheduled date and we immediately got a confirmation. Fantastic!! The tour guide Wendy called us at night and picked us up in the morning as planned. We went to the Ming Tomb first and then to have a nice buffer set lunch then to see the great wall . For the first time using the cable car (cost RMB60/Person return ticket) to the highest point was breath taking. This was the highlight of the tour. We had an ample time to explore the place and took plenty of photos. What a fun!!..
Everything went very smoothly, from start to finish. We were picked up early from our hotel, but given all the things we saw and did during the day, one can see why. There was a good mix of ancient sites, shopping and a good lunch, and all for a very modest charge. Our guide was helpful with his commentary, and the driver certainly knew his way around Beijing and the surrounding district. My wife and I were very glad we booked with ChinaTour.net..
We took the tour of the Great Wall and Ming Tombs. The company offers two options for the tour- US$24 and US$35 per person. We choose the second option. There were a total of seven people in the group who were picked up from two hotels. We travelled in a (air conditioned) minivan which was excellent. First stop was at a Jade factory- it was ok, but expensive, besides not everyone likes Jade. The tour guide spoke good English. We spent two hours climbing the Great Wall. Then we had a good lunch covered within the cost. There were many shops downstairs for visitors- good for suvenior shopping. Then we went to the Ming Tombs- a great place of Chinese history. Overall it was a great experience, and I would recommend it to others...
The tour was great and we had a fantastic day. Fortunately, we searched the internet for a cheaper option as the hotel charges were expensive for tours (twice the price that we paid to ChinaTour.net!). We booked on 8 Jul for 9 Jul tour. On the same evening, we received a message from the tour on our pick up time. The next day, we were picked up from our hotel at about 7.30 am and returned there at about 7.00 pm due to the heavy traffic and rain! We visited not only the wall (where we had plenty of time to walk the whole section and reached the 4th tower) we also visited the Ming Tombs , jade factory and tea house. Our guide , Sally, was very patient and knowledgeable. She was responsive to our needs and requests, with an excellent balance between sightseeing and shopping. I would truly recommend ChinaTour.net to any visitors who have not been to Beijing...
