It was a nice tour dispite the bad wheather The tour guide switched the planning so the chance of good weather was bigger on the great wall. Nice lunch whit the rest of the group ( Australian, South Africa, U.S and we frome the Netherlands.) the guide spoke good english. Did see a spectacular part of the great wall...
It was a fantastic tour. The tour guide Andy called us the previous night and came to our hotel on time. Andy was knowledgeable and explained the history of Beijing, Ming Tombs, Mutianyu etc. which we couldn't learn from websites. Mutianyu was beautiful and worth taking the cable (ski type) and climbing up all the way. Dingling was historical but the stadiums can be missed. In addition, when we asked for steamboat recommendation, not only that Andy recommend a good restaurant for us, he called up to get directions and address, great tour!..
Mutianyu Great Wall tour We had a wonderful time 11/24 /10 with Cindy. The wall was amazing and we were glad that we went outside of Beijing. There were stops at the Jade Factory and Silk Museum. We actually enjoyed these quite a bit. The salespeople do hover, but were not pushy at all. The lunch was very good. It was a long day (pick up at 7:45 am and return at 5:30 PM), but there was time for a nap on the way back. I didn't sleep, though, because driving through the small villages was a part that I did not want to miss. It gave quite an eye opening picture of more rural life...
Mutianyu Great Wall tour We went on this tour to the Mutianyu Great Wall and Ming Tombs on Wenedsday, September 16th, the last day of our time in China. We chose the Mutianyu tour because we wanted to see something of the Chinese countryside and visit the wall without too many people. We weren\'t disappointed. It was a delight to see the local agriculture, especially the many orchards which reminded us of where we live in England. But then the scenery changed and we reached the dramatic work of China. We ware lucky to see The Wall without too much tourists and sometimes we were alone on the wall part. 2 hours we had for the wall was little bit short. It was necessary to take cable car to the top, otherwise we would just clime up and have no time for the Great Wall. So, be ready to pay addtional 50 RMB for the cable car to the top of the great wall...
The Ming Tombs were extremely disappointing. As all artefacts had been removed there were just empty red metal boxes. Very bleak. A waste of time. The Great wall was fantastic, everything we expected and more. Once again the obligatory factory visits spoilt the day. THESE SHOULD BE OPTIONAL. The guide was quite abrupt and of very little help when we needed assistance at the end of the tour in order to get to Beijing Airport. The driver was a lunatic...
Mutianyu Great Wall tour We went on this tour to the Mutianyu Great Wall and Ming Tombs on May 20th. We chose the Mutianyu tour because we wanted to visit the wall without too many of the typical tourists. The Wall at this sight was spectacular and the restoration was incredible. I must give a lot a credit to our tour guide Justin, who\'s articulation of the subject matter was enjoyable. The chosen spot for lunch was also enjoyable, however, I did not like the time that we were into a jade and silk tourist stores and that took our valuable time...
Mutianyu Great Wall tour An excellent value tour. We went to a quiet part of the Wall. Food on the way was very good. We also went to a jade and silk factory followed by a tea house. I realize this helps the tour company with extra income but unfortunately it cut into our tour time. Ming Tombs was a bit of I waste of time as little to see really as tombs are empty. Driver was a maniac. Overtaking with oncoming traffic. Tour guide was very knowledgable. With all those complaints I still would definitely recommend this tour...
