The trip was great, many expiriences and good schedual. Th driver was very nice, and gave excellent service. We had a bad instructor, but when complained to the comnpany -the did everthing they could to improve -0 so the company is very good too...
The tour was good and we had a good time at the Great Wall. However, we were unhappy with two things. First of all no water was provided during lunch and we had to buy from the restaurant. Water is cheap and even if it is boiled water from the tap we which is practically free we would be ok with it. Second, the tour guide demanded that we pay RMB50 each as tips to her because the tour group did not buy much from the jade house and the tea shop. In all my trips tips is voluntary and amount we pay depends on the service provided. The guide claimed she was not paid by your company and depended on commission from the shops for purchases made by the tourists. If indeed this is true, your company should have included her salary in the tour price and we don't mind paying upfront rather than the guide demanding payment from us at the end of the tour and we had no way to determine what she claimed was true or not...
The Olympic stadiums should not be listed as part of this tour. We did a sort of drive by where we could see a glimpse of them from the traffic light. We did not get any time to take pictures or explore, as stated in the description. The time at Dingling was nice. The tour guide gave lots of good information, but it still felt rushed. Our time on the Wall was very short as well. On the whole, I was disappointed with this tour...
First of all we never went to the Mutianyu section of the wall because our guide thought it would be too busy. We went somewhere else. The guide was right, it was not busy ( at first). I enjoyed the visit to wherever we were on the wall but it was difficult walking. Very steep, very irregular steps to climb. Hard work but I loved the beautiful vistas. Eventually it got extremely busy but by then we were almost done. I did go to Mutianyu another day and found it much easier to navigate and it was not busy at all. The views here are spectacular, too. The visit to the tombs was disappointing because I did not realize all but one of the tombs were underground. We had a slight view of the roofs of Olympic venues as we sped by in the van. Very disappointing to not have been able to stop. The visits to the jade shop and tea shop were a surprise as they were not mentioned in the itinerary. I was not interested at all in these stops. Our guide was friendly and his English was quite good, lunch was okay and overall a fairly good day...
Good -Great Wall is the highlight. - The coach tour is a convenient way to get to the Great Wall. - surprisingly, we liked the tea house shopping stop. Bad -we literally just drove past the olympic stadium and could only see 1/16 of the place. No photo stop there. - we went to the zhaoling tomb not the dingling tomb which is also nice but not what i expected...
The guide was unkind, from my point of view she was talking to the wall, because she walked very quickly and in no moment she looked at us. At the end of the tour she expected tip, I didn\'t give her any tip because she didn\'t deserve and she got angry...
Guide Linda speaks good english, is pleasant but rush through the entire trip. Very often she did not wait for the all group members to be present before talking about the history & places. I did not managed to catch much on the explanations. Guide Linda seems to be in a big rush to complete the trip...
We had a nice time on our tour however the price did end up being more than what we expected. The 210 yuan doesn't include 100 yuan when you get to the great wall, and drinks were not included in the lunch (a pot of tea was about 30 yuan). We also had to pay 15 yuan each to the driver for parking. Unfortunately our tour didn't end up seeing the Olympic Stadiums which was never really explained we just got driven to a tea ceremony which was nice anyway. The final payment was a 100 yuan tip (each) which we hadn't been expecting. Apart from that, the tour was good...
We booked the 1 day Mutianyu only tour in October 2015. As this part of the wall is abit remote and harder to get to - we decided to book a tour for the convenience that they will pick us up and return us back to the hotel. On the day of the tour- the (only?) coach bus broke down, and so we were picked up and packed like sardines into mini-vans while our tour guide was flustered in organising who goes in which van. the trip was an uncomfortable hour or two, and on top of that we ran late, and could not stay longer at the wall. We missed our taboggan ride because we had a lunch curfew with the rest of the group. Probably would avoid tours in the future due to the limitations...
Went on october 13th. Besides the Great Wall and the tea ceremony, I DO NOT recommend this tour. First of all, they should not say they include the Olympic Stadiums. You pass by with the mini van. No time to stop or take pictures. After visiting a Jade factory and the Ming tombs, we headed to the Great Wall. Everything was going fine until we got there and they told the mini van that it could not pass and get to the base of the Wall. They made us pay another bus (15 Yuan), up and down. We told the guide that China Tour had to pay it. We were not aware of that extra charge, and were not responsible that the place was not allowing vans to enter. After discussing with a supervisor over the phone, our guide was extremely rude and childish. I do not remember her name, may be Jane or Jill, but it does not matter. left us alone on the second bus, spoke in a rude manner all the way back. Besides, at the time to get back on the bus, the mini van appeared so we did not have to take the bus. So we paid even extra for something we did not use. We had lunch there, beverages were NOT included and we were NOT aware either. Afterwards we went to a Tea Ceremony. That was Ok. On the way back we asked them to leave us at the Olympic park to see the Nest and the Water Cube, since we did not have time in the beginning. Besides this bad experience with this company, the Great Wall is a MUST-SEE attraction. You also MUST go down on the slide. So much fun! The tea ceremony was fine too. IF YOU CAN FIND ANOTHER TOUR COMPANY. These attractions and this trip to China cannot be ruined by these unprofessional group of people...
My husband, three kids and myself had a great day touring the Great Wall, Ming tomb, jade factory and tea house. We felt the price was very reasonable. We were contacted the night before about a pick up time and the bus was at our hotel as we were told it would be. But what really made the tour great was our guide. Rocky was really fabulous. He was friendly, organized, knowledgeable, and spoke English really well. We had been to the Great Wall several times in the past, but what we enjoyed most about this trip was spending the day talking to Rocky...
We had a great day out on this tour. Vanessa, our guide spoke excellent English and was full of energy and very helpful. We were a large group of 29 people but we all got on well and the day was a great success. This section of the wall is lovely and I would strongly wold recommend taking this tour with Chinatour. the tea house and jade factory are also very interesting...
We started at 06.30 and we were back at 18.30. In this time we were only 2 Hours and 15 min at the wall. We really think that the Tour is to expensive for What you get. The lunch was fine...
First 15 min stop at Olympic Stadium stop. We didn\'t get closer than appr. 300 meters. After that visit to jade factory. Don\'t mind commercial stops as long as I can learn something. 1: this is jade 2: this a worker in the jade factory polishing raw material. 3: this is the shop where you can buy. Some more explanation about the process would help. Ming Tombs is O.K. Beautiful but not too much explanation from your tour guide. Lunch absolutely good. The Great Wall itself impressive and beautiful. On the way back a visit to a Tea Ceremony...
We took the tour in January/15. It was our first time in China, and the tour was done the first day of our vacation. It was definitely the highlight of our trip. Our guide David was very informative, and his English was excellent! Doing the Mutianyu section was a great choice. We were able to take numerous photos of the wall that had no people in them. We'd definitely do this tour again...
It was a very nice tour. I and my family (4) enjoyed the tour. The tour met the things offered. Good mini bus, good driver, good lunch near the great wall, not too chinese. Our guide was Alicia, very nice person, active, worried about us, good english, high knowledge about matters. Very recommended tour. Best regards Jose Garcia Chile..
We were very pleased with the tour. Our tour guide, Maggie, was very personable and she and our driver picked us up promptly at our hotel in Beijing. The only thing I could say would need improvement is that we were not told ahead of time we had to pay an extra fee for the gondola up to the Great Wall, which was about $12 per person. Overall a very nice tour.l..
Excellent tour! Serena was an outstanding guide! Great English, great knowledge, professional and courteous to travelers. Couldn't have asked for anything better! Would do it again in a heartbeat!..
We take this tour on July 20th. I was searching for local tours, found this tour and booked online. Booking was very easy and simple. Hassle free and no need to provide credit card information. Evening before our trip, our guide Maggi called and confirmed the trip. Next morning she was on time. Maggi was amazing and very knowledgeable person. She made sure that we reach Mutianyu great wall base before it get crowded. After the Greatwall they took us to Jade factory and display store. The Lunch provided in this tour was very tastsy and quality of food was very high. After lunch they took us to Ming tombs, Olympic stadiums and silk factory. From Silk factory, all tour operators suggest people to use Metro train to reach destinations to avoid traffic. My hotel was a bit far from metro station. Maggi made an alternate arrangements with other bus driver to drop me at my hotel. So nice of her. I will recommend this tour to everyone who wish to enjoy Great wall with low budget and safe tour...
Our guide Lisa was great. We were only a group of three so could ask loads of questions. It's only a photo spot of the Olympic stuff from afar. Jade factory and tea ceremony were nice but think they really want you to buy stuff which we didn't. Got extra time on the wall which was geat, extra 100 yuan pp for cable car and toboggan (completely recommend btw was great fun), lunch was lovely (but no drinks included) and you do really have to tip 100 yuan at the end of the tour so I'd add an extra 200-300 yuan pp depending on if you want to shop..
The best tour I can suggest to every one. Our guide Maggie called me at my hotel before day evening for confirmation and was there on time to pick up from hotel. Six of us were in a group and the van was very comfortable. We reached Mutianyu before crowded. Our guide explained about culture and importance for Chinese in visiting Great wall. After Great wall we were taken to a Jade factory. Later taken to the restaurant for lunch which was traditional and amazing. Food was very good. Later we visited Ming tombs, bird view of olmpic stadiums and finally a visit to silk factory. The whole trip was well planned and organized...
